I recently trade in my 2018 tundra for 2024 Silverado z71 Rst. It’s great truck with all great features and stuff. But I didn’t research enough before buying. And I just researched and people have transmission issues with new silverados. And now I am thinking to get back to 2025 tundra but it’s look like tundra has also problems? Is there any big transmission or engine problems with 2024 or 2025 tundras? Between this is my new ride as of now.

I have a 24 SR5 with an august build date. Almost 14,000 miles and zero problems.

24/25 models seem to be improving. Subjectively reading on here of course. The 3G does look it's best with a decent lift and wheels. So there's that too

I’m in a similar boat to @Lots-O-Dogs. I’ve got a ‘24 SR5 with a June build date and closing in on 10k miles with no problems.

    none....yet!
If it's mechanical it can break. If you like your current truck, just drive it and don't worry about it.

'25 SR5 with no issues... Just out of break-in. I gave up on GM's in 2008. When the headers rusted off my last GM in 4 years I was done. I've had a 2008, 2017 and now a 2025.

Unless you enjoy eating depreciation, I'd keep the Chevy. That's a sharp looking truck, and there's absolutely no guarantee a Tundra will be any more reliable.

Very early for 24 or 25 problems. Getting the usual volley of no problems in low miles responses is really not helpful

Which engine do you have in the Chevy? Seems to be hit and miss with some of the stuff, but I am always dreaming of that 3.0 diesel. I feel like the DOD ruined the 5.3 and 6.2. The 2.7 by all accounts is an excellent engine. It seems more suited for fleet/work trucks and I thought putting that in the Colorado/Canyons was an outstanding move.

Thanks for all the information. I will check with dealers what would they give for trade for 2025 tundra sr5 or limited. And my current truck is 6.2l v8 Silverado 2024.
