Enjoy every second of this! Mine won a high school state championship, got a ride to a D1 school, then had interest from several bigs before it was over when his shoulder gave up the ghost. Had an offer to fly out to Arizona and he had to tell them he couldn't because of the shoulder. He lived and breathed baseball during this time of his life. Trained his ass off year round for years with far too many injuries. So many ups and downs. The shoulder was the final straw with this game of failure called baseball, he didn't want surgery, and wanted to start his career as an accountant. Surgery meant another year of rehab and there was no guarantee it wouldn't happen again. Throwing upper 90's is very rough on your body. He said, "I want to start making money Dad". It was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it. They grow up way too fast!

 

It's range day here too!

 

Now I have a total of 2 patches. Wife said she was a lil jelly of the noose duck.

 

Changed out her wheels to summer edition and hooked up her window trim since it was finally warm enough yesterday.

I hope your range day went better than mine. My 30yo range bag left chat, my .22 ruger pistol didn't eject and left a round in the barrel and the trigger fucked up, the VR80 shot 1 round then stopped cycling, I brought the wrong ammo can in and couldn't go back to the truck w/o loading everything back up, and my AR kept shot cycling and had ftf issues, and my red dot stopped working. Also my sub2k's front post just decided to be loose af. If it was the apocalypse I would've been an ammo drop.

 

So you packed everything up, went home and cracked a beer? That's what I would've done.

 

Yup. I got the VR80 to cycle again, but I don't trust it. Ruger .22 is fubar. Trigger is dead. I dunno about the AR; it's always had ftf and short cycle issues. Always had P-mags so I don't think it's the mags. Probably needs a good gas system cleaning.

 

Range day is so that if anything can go wrong, it can go wrong there. I suppose every other day is 'For Effect' day...

 

I can’t like this. Kinda feel bad saying my day went perfect. Got the new Mark 5 mounted on the bolt gun a zeroed with 3 rounds. Got my dope done out to 1000 even though it was very windy. Out at 1000 I was holding between 4-5 mil right but got on the 8”x8” steel. Didn’t get the AR out as far as I wanted but she ran perfect to 600.

 

Oof, not the day to invest in a lottery ticket.

Which Ruger? I've got a Mark II that's over 40 years old, never had a hang fire or failure to eject. Except with some really cheap Navy Arms ammo. It was $5 a brick when everything else was $10, remember the good old days? I threw that shit away after less than 50 rounds.
