I've gotten two quotes to install the valvebody and pan. $750 and $719. Does not include fluid. That seems high for not including the fluid also.

Honestly, given the rates around this area, that's not horrible. $150/hour for independent shops about 1 hour outside of Boston. Toss in an unknown job like R&R a built VB, I don't think those are outrageous prices. I'll do mine myself in the garage, especially after watching the installation video, but I'll probably also come out at the end thinking $750 wouldn't have been such a bad price. Maybe show them the video and ask if they'd like to update their quote? Unlikely, but worth a shot.

The cost to me seems high enough to include fluid. Just labor only seems high.

It's not difficult and can be done in about 2 hours on the driveway.

I was thinking the same, I can see both sides. $700 sounds like a lot if I got that quote. But I've also charged $700 to install a valvebody, and that shit sucks ass every time. It still sounds expensive even if it's what I charge, maybe I'm just retarded that way

Been adjusting tune since fixing my passenger side exhaust header to downpipe, 'broken studs'. A tad rich in wot but pulling hard. Ran an older gentleman and his wife in their 2025 X5 M60i. Neck and neck from a stop till I let off at 60. On a roll pulled pretty hard on them, but again let off. That thing moved out pretty quick and they were super cool for older folks:rofl:

That’s a pretty nice takedown, they’re both quick and powerful from some googling looks like. 0-60 in 4.3 and 1/4 mile in 12.8!

First sweating bullets and thought it was a X5 M then saw the M60I badge. Still moved out quick as shit......knew something was up when they both looked at me with big ass smiles

Please let me know, if it improves the 1-2 shift over the IPT, I'm gonna jump on it, I've been driving EVs too often lately, and the 1-2 shift with IPT caught me by surprise and made me swear out loud while on a phone call.

Post #22927 I gave a quick review of my experience with the VB.

1-2 is very daily drivable friendly (to me), but does get a bit more annoying/noticeable in stop and go traffic. Hasn't made me swear out loud yet...

On a separate note/question are we able to purchase the Magnuson upper 4" intake alone somewhere or should I consider another intake when upgrading for future power gains?

My IPT doesn't shift harsh but is firm. Have you tried putting the stock springs back in the b3/c2 accumulators?

Sounds like my F-150 company truck with the 10 speed. It keeps you on your toes for when it decides to have a nasty hard shift. I've dropped a couple F-bombs on calls too.

Before the latest tragedy, I killed a kid in a loud old Dodge truck in the BMW. At the light he was smiling & said that's fast.

    lol

Also, motor is 80% ready to come out, I'll have a 700 mile trip in the morning.

I wonder if all this tariff stuff is further going to delay Whipple ship dates. Last i heard was late March estimated ship date. Hopefully they aren't still waiting for parts from China.

    @nags you hear anything?

Not a peep, but you've got me curious now! It honestly didn't even dawn on me that March had come and gone so quickly, which is when we were expecting them to show up. Lemme see what I can find out.

Screw Whipple, I can't imagine waiting more than a few weeks let alone months when there's multiple options that will all perform nearly identically.

But to each their own :D
