Once every 25 years? You can only do that so many times I suppose….like once. Unless, of course, you’ve got a 1975 Toyota vehicle to refresh again. That would be impressive.

The seat covers and bolstering where available from Toyota as an Option in 2002, they may have also been shown at the SEMA show. I bought a set in 2005?, they were no longer available from Toyota then so I contacted the company that made them for Toyota, initially they would not sell them directly to me. Recently I had the bases redone at an upholstery shop, now they look and feel like new.

Has less than a 100K and is rust free, another 25 years of service should be no problem. You're still correct though, I likely won't be here to refresh it again, but someone else might.

Finally made it to Summit Racing to get the couple of hose clamps I was missing (2 of these for the airbox side) so I could finally get my damn engine bay cleanup done. HUGE thanks to @PNW15 for the assist on hump hose and silicone reducer.

I had a compatible bolt and washer for the 1/4-20 Coarse* thread hole to hold the HVAC line. I re-used the two stock intake box clamps on the reducer/TB side of things. I had a 5/16" barbed hose join on-hand already and was able to cut down my old passenger PVC hose to bridge the gap on that larger hose. Used a Dorman 1/8"-1/4"-1/4" tee (from a variety pack I got for $7) with small section of 6mm silicone hose to setup the PS air control valve and bank 2 fuel pressure regulator/vent line. In reality, that tee should be a 3/16"-1/4"-1/4" so I dunno why the hell Airraid is selling their kit with the smaller size. But whatever. I was able to thread an 1/8" NPT fitting with 1/4" barb cheap enough on scAmazon to feed the vacuum stuff.

I'm probably going to make a bracket to hold the MAF harness and I'd really love to find a tee with the following specs, specifically with the 1/4" barb at a 90° from the NPT end of things:

    upload_2025-4-10_18-6-23.png

    Anyway, before/after photos because :worthless:

Oh, and before anyone asks: ZERO DIFFERENCE in performance. But that's not what I was going for.

Depending on how you rate those I'll probably be in the market for one too. Would rather have decent reception and not a stubby, sounds like this is best of both worlds

That's my hope. Supposedly this is like "OEM+" and combines tech of the taller antenna and reception with some of the tech from the stubby as a hybrid. May just be sales hype. We will see, I'll try to keep you in mind when it gets here. I won't be able to install until several days after it arrives though. Gotta travel again for a few days here in the near future.

I have a stubby and I don't get any reception at all. Although I'm more so thinking the last owner disconnected the wire when he installed the headunit, oh well

Went into the 4x4 shop to get the alignment re-done. As I said before, big 4x4 fabricator and they were super cool with putting it within my preferred specs, were familiar with the SPC uppers, had no issues there. 20 minutes later he came back out to give me the bad news that 3 of the 4 cams are seized. He got his guy to get the numbers as close as he could. My bushings are cracked, so they were due anyway.

So just bought new cams/bolts/eccentrics and LCAs from Serra. Still have the 25% off going for 5 more days. More than I was expecting to spend, but after pricing out bushings only, it was only $105 cheaper for just bushings. Not worth it for me, since I don't have a press or know anyone who does, so there goes that $100 saving by having a shop do it. Wasn't interested in trying the bottle jack trick either.

Now to add this to the continual, never-ending list of to-do's for the truck.

Had it installed in 05 on my 2000 to replace the cloth seat covers. It was $1200, leather front back and the door inserts, included install. The reupholstery of just the the front bases this month was $800, a bit on the high side but I knew it would be good work, I had prior experience with the shop. It was available in 02 from Toyota for $2000-2500 as an option.

It was offered by Toyota in 2002, in 2005 I got it from the supplier
I don't think it is available any longer, 'Classic Soft Trim' was Toyota's supplier when they offered it as an option in 2002. I dealt directly with Classic Soft Trim in 2005 when I purchased it. Classic Soft Trim got smaller over the years and was bought out by a company in Florida.
