Sounds almost like a snap ring, which I hate... but regardless, I will be watching to learn since I do not have a clue!

No idea, but I get all my trailer stuff like bearings and brakes from these guys. Maybe give them a call.

Is the hub assy. still in good condition? If so just replace the bearings? Lets see some more pictures of the actual hub and go from there. I have lots of bearing usage and design experience from my previous job.

Considered this. Never done it before and I was trying to cut corners with buying a complete ready to go packed hub.

after closer inspection not even sure my bearings are bad but both seals on the back side of each hub assembly appear to be where I'm loosing my grease. I attached photos of the bearings, the seal and the hub assembly as well as the means that hold everything all together. Both wheels have play in them when jacked up. Also original bearings that came with the trailer when I bought it in 2012.

I have grease all over each wheel as well.

Those are tapered roller bearings and you should be able to get high quality replacements from Timken. You'll need to measure with some calipers the OD of the cup the ID of the cone and then the height with them placed together.

Take a picture of the bearings and races with grease cleared off. If there is no sign of pitting or obvious wear on them I would just re-pack them and install new seals. The trick to having no play/wobble is to properly seat them and tighten appropriately. I spin the hub while tightening a few times to set them in and then just back the nut back slightly as to have no play. Not too tight, not too loose.

You're welcome. They should have numbers engraved on them. If you can find those then you will know exactly what you have.

I was hoping that they would, but all 4 bearings from both sides don't have those numbers engraved on them. I can faintly see something on one of them but nothing that helps me.

    This.

Clean the bearings and you should see some numbers/letters.

Unless it's a Temu bearing assembly..

All the races look clean with no markings. Same with the bearings. So would you just get new seals and repack them? At this point since I have everything apart I'm leaning towards getting new bearding and seals.

I also watched a video on you tube that basically went through what you just explained on how to get everything snug when putting it back together. Tighten the nut until the wheel struggles to spin, then back the nut off a bit until the wheel start spinning freely again.

People are disgusting. The floors are what they looked like when I pulled off the carpeted mats
I had to pull this car out, onto the driveway and open all of the doors to blow it out; 3x. The mats were worse for pet hair removal.
