I bought my '25 Tundra a few months ago and installed an aftermarket front bumper. In the installation instruction, there's no mention of these two items, other than removal. My best guess is an actuating front spoiler. Can you all provide some insight? If it is a spoiler, I'd assume that leaving it off shouldn't be an issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

It does look to be the actuator, if you don't plug a dummy into the plug on the truck you will have the warning light on all the time. I know there's a company that sells the dummy I just can't think of it.

Yes that’s the active air spoiler and motor. Will throw a dash error if removed unfortunately. CBI has a plug that tricks the computer but other threads have reported that it may not work anymore after some updates.

other threads have guys putting the motor up in the grill and zip tying it off perpendicular so the flap opens and closes horizontally into dead space.

Now that I've lifted mine I want to take it off, (just dead weight and "service mode" is just one more thing to do when changing oil) but have hesitated because of the potential for error messages / codes, etc.
I don't understand how it is that some guys get codes thrown and others get nothing?

I wish I had the answer to that. I agree it seems like a coin toss. At least there's a solution for those that do get the codes.

My 1794 TRD Offroad does NOT have the spoiler installed. I wonder what they have done to prevent a code because it's not there?
