Hard to pick honestly, becaue I actually like alot of stuff new and old. I also rarely like most of a band's albums, usually enjoying a few of their songs or a single album.

Off the top of my head I'd say these are the ones that I've liked a significant portion of their work:

    1. Disturbed

    2. Five Finger Death Punch

    3. Shinedown

    4. 3 Doors Down

    5. Parkway Drive.

I can relate. There's lots of bands that have an album that I really dig, but the rest of their stuff isn't for me, and there are plenty that have just one good song and everything else they've done was garbage.

    Music:

I've been trying to open my mind.

    ain't goin' well.

new country is horrid bubble gum crap.
new pop is horrid bubble gum crap.
new rock is horrid bubble gum crap.
rap/urban is for brain dead idiots.

I keep falling back to the classic stuff.

you know, when AI was not involved with the creation of music.

all this click track shit is not enjoyed by a functioning brain.

and speed metal....y'all can have it.

The recent Kid Rock interview floored me ....it was like a Neo moment.
He said most music on Spotify was AI generated.

    WHAT??!!

Previous pages had me thinking on music. I like some of most everything, but there are some types of music I really have slim to no taste for.

Rap is a prime example. Not a fan of 99% of it. So much is just the same 4 notes in the back repeated endlessly while some wannabe idiot brags about a less than stellar lifestyle. Just not for me. But there are always exceptions to the rule, right? Friend had me listen to this one and I liked it.

Also, not sure if this would fall under jazz, which I don't usually like, but that is where my brain puts it. I love it and I have no good reason why. It just pleases my ear.

God it is hard to stay up on this thread, I need to be less focused during working hours lol.

    Music though, I'm in:

    1. Fit For an Autopsy

    2. Shadow of Intent

    3. Lorna Shore

    4. Between the Buried and Me

    5. Deftones

People say that you grow out of metal as you age, but I just can't listen to anything that doesn't have some energy to it.

I like our Corolla for city driving, commuting and running errands. No matter how much I thrash it, it gets double the fuel economy my truck does. Plus my wife has scraped and bumped it enough that I don't mind a few more door dings.

I don't care about fuel economy in and of itself but I'm always interested in saving money.

Maybe if you gave me a genre - and if that genre is metal, narrowed it down to a single subgenre - I could give you my top 5 bands. Maybe.

That's kind of it for me because I listen to a little of everything,

I do like some old stuff. There's plenty of songs from CCR, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Boston, The Clash, The Police etc that I like.

I also have in my playlists stuff from Eminem, 2pac, Nelly Furtado, Hollywood Undead, Michael Jackson, Avatar, Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Big Smo, Chris Stapleton, and lots of other random shit. My playlists on shuffle would probably give most people here whiplash.

    Luther....my man.

That dude could sing...and surrounded himself with the BEST musicians.

He's in my Jazz/Easy station on Pandora.

in regards to a plethora of music tastes...Pandora is my go to

I bet I have 20 stations set up.

all rolling different artists in a specific genre.

"workout" is all that heavy shit that was mentioned earlier.

I don't think it went that far. And if it did I was out of touch. Maybe my poem saved it? :notsure:

Edit: yes I am out of touch. Twas before my time here and as a new member it shows how I still need to keep working on it.
