I purchased this gun because...well I have always wanted a CZ. Due to the many recommendations I received...

    Can't complain about that.

When breaking in the gun, the first 150 rounds was a little rough. Stovepiping was the problem. Figured it was just tight. After the 150 rounds it was flawless. Odd, but that is why you always verify that a gun is reliable. The initial break in was 300 or so rounds. Probably closer to 400. Cleaned and inspected. I did notice that I could wiggle the barrel a bit more than I would think..but hey who knows.

I want to do some small mods from Cajun Gunworks, and they seem to be the "go to" in the CZ world.

First up is a tighter barrel bushing and a shorter trigger. I also picked up an extended left side safely.

Today I decided to do something quick barrel bushing before going out and stroking the Mustang. This is what I found:

    IMG_7293.jpg IMG_7292.jpg

Bushing facing out of the slide:
    IMG_7295.jpg

Bushing facing inward from the outside of the slide:

    IMG_7296.jpg

    That is rather thin.

    New Cajun barrel bushing:

    Anyone ever experience this?

Nice gun, I've always liked those and heard nothing but good things about them...

Check these guys out if you want/need any parts/work done in the future: CZ Custom - Custom Parts, Accessories, Shooting Gear

Great shop, I've used them a few times when building my Scorpion.

I talked with CZ yesterday for the second time. They did offer to ship the pistol back and replace the barrel bushing for free at their cost.

The engineers have no idea what happened to my factory bushing other than one in a million that made it past inspection.

I'll put another couple hundred rounds through it and see how the Cajun bushing does.

    Oooohh, very nice!!

Not gonna' lie, I'm a lil' envious of you guys and the exotics.
I just these ol' blue collar CZ's... but I do love 'em.

    Well done.

    I should update this thread.

The barrel bushing was swapped and tested along with my new carry weapon.

    IMG_7489.jpg

    First shot from 20 yards.

    IMG_7486.jpg

Good enough for me. Then I emptied the few magazines of ammo (I had no idea Walmart quit selling pistol ammo) since that is all I had ~30 rounds on the CZ. The rest went to the Sig P365 Legion. I'm good with 3/6" plate strikes at that distance.

    IMG_7488.jpg

Flipped the target around to some fresh paint and gave the Sig a go.

    IMG_7487.jpg

I still have to figure out the sites on the sig. Not a combat hold but was shooting a bit low. To hit the 3" top plate I had to level out at the top of the plate edge. I'll get it sorted out. After this day my oldest daughter and I went and purchased 1500 rounds of 9mm. A few days ago I purchased another 2500 rounds. I made a commitment to go shooting at least once a month. The going "once a year" just isn't cutting it.
