Whatever this forum told me to do
I've seen more than a few videos that say the oil pump is the achilleas heel on these s/c'd fords.

    the gears are brittle.

and the FP700 pkg makes no mention of a new/better one.

I never really had any problems with the Fords I owned.
Of course I didnt install a Blower on any of em either.
Had the King Ranch Ford....Beautiful Truck!!!
Unfortunately I rolled it doing 80mph coming home from the local watering hole in the small town of Junction TX where our weekend place is on the S. Llano River.
Woke up upside down in a goat ranchers pasture and walked away with barely a scratch and walked the mile or so home.
Then came the knock on the door from the local Sheriff at the crack of dawn...
He told me he knew I'd been at the Riverside, the local watering hole, and he couldnt do anything because I made it home.
Yeah....that was the end of going to the Riverside since I figured I now had a target on my back.
They were pretty lenient on the local business owners though since the place wasnt exactly a business Meca.

Oh..an explanation as far as Business owner goes...
We bought our first place on the river and it had a small but well built cabin on it it sat on 12 acres.
Shortly after a place a few miles down river came up for sale. It had two cabins on it,two built during WW2 out of the river rocks.
The second was a later build that didnt really have the character of the River Stone one.
We also rented Canoes and Kayaks. The river had some pretty decent rapids.

The main house was built around one of the original stone cabins so you had river stone walls and fireplace.
    It was very Cool!!!
Had a creek you had to cross to get to the river and it had a stout bridge with concrete buttresses on either side of the creek with several springs pouring out the side of the creek banks.
    So yeah...that was our business...
Which of course brought in tourist who spent a lot of money.

First, I wish her a speedy recovery, improved health, and a stress free mind.

For the BIL, you need to implement a physical governor on that gas pedal when you loan it out. Just a little something under the go pedal that limits it to you know... 50% throttle? :)

    Thanks.

Based on the MPGs, I'd say he didn't need any governor.

It's good to know in mostly city driving it can do that.

I’d like to propose a water meth injection system with the nozzle pointed at the drivers face. Start spraying at say, 3psi?

I'd keep pressing the pedal, I just went to get gas, got over 10psi, it's 94.

    lol

Also, I melted a forged piston in the BMW.

Have 9.0.1 JEs out for delivery. Have a guy coming Thursday to pull the motor.

You have exceptionally rotten luck with your vehicles, I’m sorry to say!

totally unrelated to current discussion, but I was searching for something on here yesterday and saw a post where you made 585whp or something on the stock 85mm pulley, is that for real!? As I recall you have since dropped pulley sizes. Ever get it re-dyno’d?

The sequoia is heavier though, so that doesn't help...but that 5mpg...yikes

I'm still running TRD sport suspension and my overall wheel diameter is slightly smaller than stock.

Original tune on the 85mm made 588 at the hubs, I haven't had a dyno day since, but real curious what it's at now.

588HP Dyno was with ProSpeed intake, RCF throttle body, ProSpeed fuel system, JBA long tube headers and a Gibson 2.5" dual exhaust.

The 5 mile tanks were the old motor that I firmly believe was sick for over a year but still ran great.

The melted pistons are due to high compression, (OEM was over 10 non forged) the Mahle was 11 forged boost & high ambient temps, the tuner on this motor saw 160 iats, I'd say that can melt a piston in .5 miles. :(

That's hot...I see 150+ waiting in the carpool picking up the kids some time, but I take it easy until the temps drop back down. That compression level with boost on pump gas is a recipe for disaster unless you're adding meth to cool it down.

I really should do that bigger TB, I’d probably have to go up in pulley size though due to fueling limitations with the greater airflow. I kind of like running the 77.5 pulley, it runs the 2650 closer to the meat of the efficiency island vs the 85mm. I’m sure my stock TB is a huge restriction currently.

Hard to blame the tuner since there's so many variables, but what did he have to say? Can the ECU set fail safes? Did he say there's too much boost for the octane? Was he concerned about the IATs? For any tuning I would expect the tuner to tell you where there's issues with the setup and precautions and setting it up to be safe, or informing you if you're pushing it. For it to randomly fail and so soon seems odd if it was setup right, unless he said keep it below 7psi and you let it see 20psi :p

I've got my RCF throttle body for sale, I should probably list my 90mm with Sniv Speed Shop adapter since I don't think I'll ever go back.

I’ve been eyeing your TBs! All my money is tied up in my garage project currently, and my wife is home on maternity leave or I’d snatch one. Maybe once I get my VB core back and get that refund I can hit you up if they’re still available.

I never went over 6psi, the OEM motor per the SC vendor is safe to 8lbs, as it was a new motor, I was not going over 3/4 throttle, under 5k RPM. He was concerned about the IATs but said he had it on super safe timing.

The builder is taking responsibility, not charging for anything, I just need to drop it & the new 1300 9.0.1 pistons, the new 300 HG & the motor & he will machine the block & do the build. With everything going on, I'm paying a guy to remove it, will most likely pay him to install unless I let it sit until November or whenever it's under 90.

That’s pretty cool the builder is stepping up like that. A lot of them would have said kick rocks.
