    Hey everyone,

    Matt here with RADO Designs.

I’ve been testing a new product concept and would love to get your feedback on it.
    Adventure Series Basket

•Bolts directly to factory accessory rails
•Width-adjustable to fit a variety of setups
    •Molle-style mounting panels all around
•Compatible with the factory tonneau cover and most toppers.

Let me know what you think — any feedback or ideas are welcome!

Here’s one on a Tacoma, just giving an idea of the carrying capacity and size.

Sounds very cool and practical. However I have one question: is it compatible with a Decked Gen 1.0 Drawer system?

A fully enclosed and low profile setup would be awesome to use with and without a bed cover.

If you can give me a measurement from the top of the accessory rail, to the top of your decked system. I can get you an answer fairly quick.

We are working on a fully closed version as well.

Currently the main goal is wanting to gauge interest on the overall concept. This was a prototype version and we are looking for feedback. We’ve received a lot of feedback from the Tacoma guys over on Tacoma world.

This version that’s pictured is made of steel. It would come powder coated with a specific powder meant for harsh use and outdoor applications. Which will also be UV resistant and won’t fade over time.

We are working on an all aluminum version.

This steel one be has been tested with 350lbs of static weight and 200lbs of dynamic.
With the way it’s designed, there should be no sag in the middle.

It will be straight just like this picture of it in our Tacoma.

I'd like to but .... I landed in Canada a few hours ago and the Tundra is in Switzerland. No kidding. I will be back in Europe in May. Maybe some fellow members in the community can answer this question

For most applications, the alu version would be perfect
As for fully enclosed I totally agree with Tundra234's comment

Agreed. Aluminum would be the best option to help with any potential corrosion that could happen down the road.

The main thing is keeping pricing down and at an affordable point for most buyers. Aluminum will be a decent bump up in price compared a steel version.
I am working on making another version with a couple small changes.

I’m interested. It’ll be cool to see what you come up with for a fully closed version.

I made something similar out of Unistrut and marine plywood for an F150 I owned. It mounted to the box link brackets.

Definitely a great part of the bed to use for storage. Had I not gone a different direction with my Tundra, I would definitely buy one.

Yes. After looking more at how the diamondback covers mount. There should be no interference and they should mount up just fine.

Just a thought, what if the basket being universal, but instead it's bars, that's adjustable in width, then we can add attachments to it, for example, I would love to have the bars that allows me to mount my fishing rods or rifle cases on top of fire wood/chairs/propane tanks.

Weight and pricing is still getting 100% nailed down. As I am working on an aluminum version as well. Steel will obviously be a cheaper option compared to aluminum. But aluminum would be my preferred choice. Just not sure if the normal consumer will be okay with the price.

I would use these for all my fuel containers. Right now I have some 2x4's and whatnot, but this is a lot nicer looking. I like that I can have it and also slide material underneath, so it doesn't need to come on and off constantly. I would be interested in one of these.

What's the risk of this bowing in the bedsides? I have no clue how much weight that would take, but i know the tacomas have that problem and some guys here put stiffeners on as well.

For those who asked for a more “enclosed” version. I have a new lid I’m making. This was a quick version to test fit an idea. I will have a locking, hinged lid finished up next week.

Let me know your thoughts. As well as which style you prefer. Molle cutouts or the more “enclosed style”.

    Looking good.

More cut-outs means a lighter product with more attacment points, so the more the better IMO. Do you have rough specs/dimensions yet? Is the picture of it in a CrewMax? Trying to get a sense of the usable space in front of the wheel well. Personally, a lid would be virtually useless o me, but good to have options. Will it be lockable?

Yes definitively; I can see many use cases with it and those Mole panels sized cut-outs will not only provide inside and outside the basket attachment points but will help evacuate water when it rains if the basket't top is kept open.

Really looks like a very promising product
