Texas fixed the EV vs. ICE road tax problem by levying a $200/yr EV tax. No additional tax on gas. I know CA intends it to be a bit punitive for people buying gas cars, and they can fv(k right off with that.

Just wrapped up that episode of the Rogan podcast...Very interesting guest and the implications of what they are doing will be felt throughout the rest of human history moving forward...

It's episodes like these that I like so much about the Rogan podcast...I tend to skip the episodes with the comedians/actors/musicians/political commentators as they aren't that interesting to me.

What assumption did I make? Where did I assume I knew you well enough to declare your knowledge of sushi, or anything for that matter?

Of all the topics that would devolve into a multi-page discussion, I didn't expect sushi to be so hotly debated...For the record, I enjoy the full spectrum of sushi/sashimi from grocery store items all the way to gourmet restaurants. You can definitely taste the difference in quality vs price being paid when taking a step back and examining the full spectrum of what is being sold as "sushi" today. Maybe to a sushi purist that makes me an unwashed barbarian with an undeveloped pallet..:notsure:

That being said, this debate about authenticity seems like a strange one. I imagine even within the sphere of sushi made in Japan, that there will be regional differences and differences between individual chef's and one restaurant in Japan vs. another. I don't think anyone would claim those differences would make one or the other less authentic...There are Japanese born and trained sushi chef's following the same techniques and using the same ingredients that their counterparts are using in Japan here in the United States. I don't see how they would be less authentic...

Whatever this forum told me to do
Sushi is one of those food categories that I would only eat if the person I was with knew the damn difference.

    because...I don't.

I have eaten both sushi/sashimi....and it's all the same to me.

    like coffee.

    or beer.

    or motor oil.

    but not BBQ......BBQ is a whole-nuther topic.

    speaking of eating....

i see all these longitivity "experts" telling us what to eat to live longer.

    really?

who, amongst them has lived longer?

my Grandpa lived to 91 eating beef and sausage. he was old German.

are these grifters saying I could live to 120?

    because you can't.

look at your parents....generally speaking...that's how long you will live.

I saw a FWY billboard about 10 years ago in Vegas that said the first human to live past 120 years is currently alive....

So, it must be true if those theories have now transitioned to the TUBE

At this point, I think we need a 'thread reset'...

We've lost ability to joke around w/each other and feel accepted no matter what are differences are...

Time for a Live Thread group hug

Damn, y'all are still talking about sushi? Don't know how fresh or real it is, but I noticed while grocery shopping last week that my local Safeway has a sushi bar/counter/whatever with a dude making it right there. He was an Asian guy, don't know if he was from Japan.
OK, time to drive to work.
