Do you carry while at home?

YES at home and everywhere I go. Trash people are everywhere. We live in a "nice" neighborhood where the house 2 doors down, you had to qualify just to look at it when it was for sale the last time. Turns out the lady that bought it is a heroin addict as is her daughter. She sold an RV park that her late husband owned and has millions.
There's cops there at least 3 times a week.. Stolen vehicles, running drugs, flop house....It's never ending.

SO yes a group of us neighbors (now are very close friends) have our own neighborhood watch and we always carry at home and when away.
Always 1 bad apple in the bunch.

 

That's a bummer, such a beautiful neighborhood otherwise.

I look like a mix of hobo and skinhead. More appropriate for rural northern Maine than Boston suburbs. Maybe some of the neighbors carry at home because of me. When I very rarely carry outside, it is when I'm with the kids and for untrained unleashed dogs. Both wife and me are dog attack victims in past. Wife has a permanent knee damage, I have scars. Not happening again, not in this country.

 

I wont say I carry at home but I do have guns placed in strategic areas around the house and out of sight.
Years back right after the Wife had just gotten married and had purchased our first home we had two mexican dudes show up at the door.
Dont have a peephole because the front door has leaded glass so I just look out the window near the front door.
And there they were.
I keep a pump 12 gauge next to the door.
I picked up the Shotgun and held it out of sight,they asked if they could come in and use the phone because their truck had broken down.
Thats when I noticed the dude in back had a cellphone in his hand.
Of course this set off alarm bells in my head.
The guy in back obviously realized I wasnt falling for it and started to push his way past the Dude in front.
At that point I brought the Shotgun into view.
Those dudes were falling all over each other to get away......and then jumped in their supposedly broken down truck and hauled ass!!
They didnt even take the time to close the hood.

 

Given the Texan part of your screen name and the obvious dirt bag nature of those approaching your door I was half expecting this meme at the end of it.

Not that I'd feel bad about it.
The legal hassles that would have followed would have been a Real Pain in the ASS!!!
If I had to guess they were illegals.
They frequently commit crimes and run back across the border to avoid prosecution.

I don't carry at home but I am trained to reach through a man's chest and rip his beating heart out with my bare hands. So I've got that going for me.

 

I carry everywhere, including my home, except when showering, but then it is within reach, outside the shower stall.

When the cops arrived, he was eating the face of the husband, who was dying in his own driveway. Cop was female, and couldnt get him to stop tearing the guys face off,with his teeth.

When finally subdued by other officers, he told them that "they would never know the real reason why he dis this to this husband and wife " he also claimed he wouldnt goto jail, either.

He just killed them for the thrill of it, and the media hype with "bath salts" was false. His father has money and is connected, politically.

My buddies dad found out from the people who were at the scene, what went down.

Anyone can claim they live in a safe area, but reality is that that scenario is easily pierced by intent, and lack of concern by the victim. I swore then to never be a victim, or at least train and prepare the best I can

Believe me, I agree with you 100% - and it's worse than that. (Am friends w/a woman who was/is on the SWAT team in that area.) I'll spare details - OTHER than to say the guy's in prison for life w/o possibility of parole.
