Funny you bring this up. I saw it pop up on our smart tv feed the other day. I remember seeing it when it came out but haven't seen it again since. From what I recall I generally liked the movie and thought Douglas played the role well. Watch "Traffic" for another one of his great performances.

My music tastes are a little different from what is commonly discussed here. There are a few a random songs I go back to time and again that aren't related to my usual fare.

Keep in mind, I despise country music...

About a dozen years ago… maybe longer now… they had a major security breach and kinda blew it off. Since the platform had started turning into a “who has the most links” already I closed my account and never looked back.

There’s a certain kind of co-worker that comes to work each day not to do the job, but just to meet people, network and basically look for a level-up off the backs of their peers. LinkedIn is for them…

    Rasputin is good.

I think it was the "What are you listening to?" thread where I poke my head in once in a while, where one of you gents had posted this one:

Back when FOS or Duran Duran or any number of similar bands came out, I enjoyed their music, but not their image. Does that make sense?
Maybe it was FOS lead singer's haircut (go watch the original version of the video from '82) or something else. The group I hung with thought them to be incredibly "ghey" for whatever reason and FOS became known as Flock of Douchebags.

All I know now is, I can't watch the modern version with the orchestra (now 6 years old) and see the balding, smiling old guys still sounding good, without a big smile on my own face.

Ok, here's a question for you music lovers: say you could selectively erase a tiny portion of your memory - a single album - so you could listen to it again now as if it was your first time hearing it. Which album would you choose and why?

Maybe that's another way of asking which album had the most profound impact on you when you first heard it?

    100 times YES.
No other band has influenced my personal music tastes more than RUSH.
How 3 guys could create the body of work they did is amazing to me.
Consider myself extremely fortunate to have seen them live twice.

My wife asked me one June or July what SRV CDs I have, so I showed her where I kept them. I probably had half of them. For Christmas she gave me the rest of them. She's not an SRV fan, and doesn't use a computer much, so it had to have been difficult for her to get that research done. She's a gem.

Pantera Far Beyond Driven. Came at a time of personal crap going on. The power, anger, and angst displayed actually turned to positives for me.

    :(

I know they'll never do shows again as RUSH without Neil, but if Geddy and Alex showed up on a stage within driving distance, I'm pretty sure I'll be there.

That album was a menagerie of sound that danced upon my ears...

I'm a child of the 80's/90's for all time...

There is an Icelandic band that reminds me of Depeche Mode that I always get any release they put out...Royksopp...they just remind me of Depeche Mode so much and the sound that came out of them that they take me to a different place and time...that is all I can ask of music.

That's a hard to question to answer as a lot of music has influenced me through various stages in life. But the first influential album that had a profound impact on how I viewed life was in high school for me.

Just looked them up as I'm a big DM fan also.
Islandic? I don't think you meant Icelandic?
The Google machine says Royksopp is Norwegian.

:anonymous:...yes Icelandic...I guess I'll have to settle for Norwegian, but from years back they were presented as Icelandic.

As a Depeche Mode fan, let me know what you think...I think it's the variety in pure sound that reminds me of old school Depeche Mode...No two songs are the same.

Rarely. Usually if I'm on a freeway I'm towing the travel trailer and that doesn't play nice with cruise.
