I’ve know 4Runner folks install them. Positive feedback. Instant engagement when ya go 4wd, pretty solid. Always stronger lockers, but not terrible.
The muscle car guys have noticed a change in the Eaton unit’s spider gears not being full steel, perhaps powered metal. Not certain those are the same things, but it’s a posi traction stuff

I have been interested in Detroit Truetrac front and rear for a while. But I still cant wrap my head around how the front end will feel in daily driving both with and without 4wd engaged. I wonder about losses in efficiency in 2wd. Here's a guy who did it on his Tacoma.

Most of my driving is snow and forest road related so I don't really need full lockers and am not interested in one in the rear as it will detract from snow driving in some conditions IMO, compared to LSD. I do like the forget about it it just works, aspect of LSD...

If not Truetrac, I would be tempted to leave my factory LSD in the rear (and upgrade later) and do an e-locker up front. Then I retain the snow performance I am used to, but gain some for off road scenarios... So many choices!

Truetrac IS a torsen. So dual torsens. Kinda makes me laugh that he says it like their different.

I have a truetrac in the front of my 1st gen Taco. Works great but it has significant resistance when turning the steering wheel when in 4x4. Even in dirt/mud/snow/etc.

I have a powertrax grip pro, also a torsen, in my 2wd 1st gen and it's been great.
