Good.... we made pulled pork last night (smoked a pork shoulder on the egg), and so tonight was BBQ pulled pork pizza

I'm not a BBQ pizza fan, but pulled pork is flat out amazing when done well.

No. Not really. Just had a blackout cough spell. I lose a bit of time, seems like it's 30 seconds or less, but I come to feeling like I haven't breathed the whole time. Headache, huge pressure in my head, tingling hands and face, and unpleasant overall sensation as a result. I'll be going back to the doctor at 8 when the urgent care opens.

 

Take care of yourself. Respitory infections are no joke and can lead to body-wide sepsis.

I'm on antibiotics and not fevered, so I doubt any form of sepsis, but I appreciate the concern. My big worry is if I were to cough like that at the wrong time, like while driving 60 MPH on a two lane highway, it could end badly.

 

Cough spell that leads to blacking out is no bueno... Dr. in the am is a good idea. What happens when you black out??? Are you standing and then end up passing out, or do you end up sitting down as it's happening and then just end up waking up realizing what happened??

 

I'm seated. I start coughing, lose sound, vision tunnels, and then I kinda come out of it and I'm missing time and all that I mentioned before. I had started a video, heard the first couple sentences, then coughing started, and I have no idea what they are talking about in the video.

in Feb, I got close to this stage. (We had Austin's cedar pollen come to Houston)

coughing and congested!!!

I was not breathing deep enough...I couldn't.

I had coughed so much, my rib cage would get electric muscle shocks every time I coughed. fatigue.

subconsciously, I started breathing shallow to prevent coughs.

then, when the coughs came...I got woozy.


Mucinex made the coughs easier. thinned the mix.


you can tell how you are progressing by actively trying to empty your lungs....breathe out till you can't

how early you lock up with coughs is the gauge.

I have never heard of someone blacking out from coughing. Fricken scary. Hope the dr is able to get you fixed up.

A rough few weeks…

 

I'm on guaifenesin (active ingredient in mucinex) but the cough isn't really gooey or anything. It's a dry cough. Nothing to bring up. After the nebulizer treatment at the doc's on friday and a couple days of the albuterol the rattle I would get at the tail end of exhale is pretty much gone.

I did some digging an apparently albuterol can have a paradoxical cough side effect that worsens coughing and causes more restrictions. I've backed off the inhaler for now. I want to see what the doc says.

It's called cough syncope. Basically the pressure from the cough in the chest causes a temporary drop in blood pressure and you faint as a result. I've not had it happen to the point I've fallen over or anything, but I still don't enjoy the experience.

And this too shall pass. I'll either get better or I'll die. Either way the cough will go away.

I gotta kick it. Can't keep your sister waiting too long. Did you know she's a nympho?

 

Good luck with that one. After our twins were born, I got a maximum of 5 hours of sleep a night for over a year.

 

I'd rather have a muzzle accelerator.
