General Supercharger Thread

This!! I used a trans jack to raise it up and hold it in place while I started a few bolts.

 

This did occur to me as to why one would call 16 lbs heavy after I posted lol.

 

No im not original owner. I believe im the second as when I purchased it it only had under 15k mi. Had a lift and 35s

 

Also VB related, the core charge to be returned is $450 from cruisers. I have to wonder what IPT would value the core at to buy outright. Pretty sure his core charge is 700 or so and he’s always struggling to acquire them.

 

I'm at 2100 RPM on stock gears (4.30) also on 33.4s ( Cooper ST MAXX) at 80mph...the math makes sense to me...you should be close to 2500 RPM at 80mph with 5.29s from my figuring...

 

Maybe it's at 2300/2350, you know, if I ever drove at those speeds.

The 5.29s do seem to give me 5mph/100rpm with the TC locked.

 

I don't know what's up but did some mph correcting ( conservatively at 5%) and looked at a data log I did on a straight level hwy, 6th with TC locked. I still think it's off...

I had to wait 2 weeks before he got a spare VB in to send me. I remember he said a while ago when it was less some didn't return the core or it took forever to return.

 

I should've taken apart the VBs people had me install and measure them and designed my own billet one

 

I can send you my old one.. when it comes out. Planning on throwing the new one in after this trip.

 

Check with OTT but depending on your mods they may not work with you without establishing a baseline; they may ask you to revert some of the mods to a known stock configuration.

@snivilous is being polite but he does tuning too. I encourage you to work with @snivilous if he has the bandwidth. He has a very high mileage SCed Tundra that has been boosted for at least half of its miles and he used it as a workhorse.

He just retuned my truck and it is running tip top again.

Edit: Sniv's truck was approaching 400K (was in the high 300Ks) and about 200K were boosted.

 

And I've been pushing 12-14psi on his, @snivilous, base tune with his input on adjustments as I learn the tuning variables. @JustDSM has been generous too with his tuning knowledge and insights.

 

I think someone said this chart copied one of the Jeep gearing charts and may not be applicable to Tundra.

I didnt think you could push that many lbs through a stock engine!
The TRD Blower was way below that amount of pressure!!
If I remember correctly the TRD Blower held you to around 6 lbs.

 

We have fallen on hard time if Jonah Hill is delivering your transmission.

 

Certainly wasn't implying @JustDSM isn't helpful just that they are understandably particular about how they handle tuning.

Sniv on the other hand will deal with any dirtbag, tramp or scoundrel off the streets.

Not sure what my peak PSI has been but I've seen 11s maybe 12s in winter running the 80mm pulley, 84mm Lexus TB and 4.25" Intake with SW headers. I'll need to check on my next run.

In the process of getting the Magnuson installed on my Tundra.
Just waiting for it to arrive.
So I cant expect that much boost if installed by a factory approved installer?

 

Pulley size and other mods will matter too.

What ended up being the issue? Kill switch?

 

It's four bolts, have a factory installer do it then swap the pulley when you're home and make all the horse torques.

Been hashing around about getting a Lathe and Mill for the garage.
