It definitely drives very nicely and is a lot more comfortable on long trips than the Tacoma was. A big part of it is you don't feel like your constantly working to keep up with traffic on the interstate. I really wish the Taco had 4.30 gears like the Tundra did, it'd have made it a lot nicer to drive. We're doing a 10 hour trip to WV in a few weeks to ride the Hatfield-McCoy Trails and I'm looking forward to being in a much more comfortable vehicle this time.

I saw that but thought I read in the thread someone local was buying them. Unfortunately I've got to recover from the purchase before I buy a set of wheels.

    Planning to do that.

Congratulations! Beautiful truck! I also went from a Tacoma to a Tundra.

I also own a Highlander and a GS350 and the Tundra has become the family favorite for long distance road trips. It just loafs along so easily. Enjoy!

Congrats on the truck and welcome to the forum..

I love my 2014 double cab, the longer bed is a plus.
I don't mind the red either, it looks sharp..

You got a better investment than buying a new one IMHO..

I bought extended warranties for both my 2005 and 2014 Tundras.
Never did have to use them..

Thanks. While I know the issues are not as big as some folks try to make them, the issues with the 3rd Gen are definitely a cause for concern for me. I also prefer the tried and true drivetrain.

Congrats on the Tundra! I also have a 2020 Double Cab with similar options; SR5 with Tow Package and 38 gallon tank. I purchased it with 9k miles and now have 38k with zero issues. I recently added SCS SR8 wheels and I really like them.

Very nice truck. When you’re driving it listen carefully for a noise in the front that sounds like a wheel bearing or tire noise and that goes away in 4WD. The noise is noticeable from 30mph to 50mph. It was a fairly common issue on the 2020 and 2021. The dealer will want to change the complete diff but don’t. The repair is an easy replacement of the driver’s side CV support bearing. Look up ECGO diff bearing replacement.

Sounds like it's like the EGCS bushing issue on the Taco's. Where you replace needle bearing with a bushing.

Congrats on the Fundy and welcome!

I too went from a Tacoma to Tundra and can’t believe I didn’t talk myself into it sooner. Close enough to the same MPG, for my driving style, yet more room, more power, more comfort.

I actually liked the smaller size of the Taco interior but the Tundra seats are way more comfy. If the Taco had more power (or maybe just a more useful rear gear ratio) and if Toyota had figured out how to make it 48" between the wheel wells like Ford did with the Ranger I don't think I'd have sold it.

You may be able to purchase an extended warrantee for it as it only has 25,000 miles. I once purchased a used Corolla XRS and it had 17,000 miles. The Toyota dealer offered it to me. I have a 2020 Tundra and have a 100,000-mile 10 year warrantee.

Why? What's wrong with TRD Offroad wheels? They are sturdy.

Nothing wrong with them but I'd like a set of aftermarket ones. I'll make you a deal on the OR wheels if you'd like. ;)

The problem with the Tacoma interior is really just the tall floor. The rest of the interior size is expected and doable, but sitting and driving with such a high floor (even with seat risers) was a notable point of annoyance for me. The Tundra fixed that with many other benefits IMO.
