Why won’t you be keeping the diamondback for long? I ask because I have an ARE Topper due to little ones and the amount of stuff they have/need while traveling combined with unexpected weather changes. But now that they’re older I’m looking into the diamondback for future.

I can walk the 2.5 miles to the Bilstein factory in Poway if you want me to rings some bells.... I can bring my range toys with me since my weapons range is on the way there....

Not sure how the Sheriff will like it walking the streets with an AR slung across my chest, 9mm holstered and a backpack full of ammo and mags.

Might need to rethink that.... 8>)

Pretty similar reason - my kiddos are still little so we have alot of stuff lol. The GFC kind of spoiled us with the amount of storage, so I plan on grabbing a regular camper shell in the meantime. The diamondback is a great product, but I quickly realized that it's just not enough space for the type of travel we do

Got caught in one downpour on the side of the highway with a bed full of stuff. There I am putting as much as possible in contractor bags while getting soaked to the bone. on the way home from said fiasco I stopped at the camper shell place and ordered a shell. I've had one ever since. But a friend at work just put a diamondback on his new truck and I'm really liking the look along with security and versatility.

The best feature of the Diamondback is the ability to haul heavy stuff on top of it otherwise any other bed cover should do the trick without costing so much.

Ask your buddy to trade trucks for a couple days or take your camper off in the summer to see if it's worth the move. I had a Retrax cover, then GFC, now Diamondback and I instantly regret not getting full height cargo cover

Recovered from the weekend trip back home and parked her under the barn for now....

Test drove the new velcro and so far these are sticking as planned... Really happy with the turn out:

    upload_2025-4-2_10-9-4.png

    It stayed as expected:

    upload_2025-4-2_10-9-23.png

Confirmed the alcohol density reset worked as expected and no change in fuel economy (didnt really expect that to change).

Also confirmed that my fn bed cover is leaking in multiple areas.. so now I am looking for new options that can do what I want it to do, which is allow me to keep my rack but also seal my bed from the elements. I thought the water was coming in from the large gaps in the tailgate, but the top of my cargo was wet in the center of the bed, so water is untruding from the slats as well. They never did on the ram, so I am disappointed to say the least.

Oh, and the truck did great going all over hells bells this weekend. We even stopped to take her mom "birding." Apparently you reach an age in life where you forget bird watching goes both ways and you start to photograph the drones...

Yesterday received a Console Vault half safe. They are running 20% off right now and I like the half safe over the OEM style box. Unfortunately the lock was installed slightly crooked on the lid where it was noticeable.

Customer support was very responsive and they already have a replacement coming out.

My truck came with the port install storage tray that's riveted in. Hoping I can squeeze the safe around these and still make use of the tray which would also partially conceal safe. Guessing no, but need to measure/dry fit. Mostly trying to avoid having to drill out the rivets. :)

Gonna have to search to see if anyone has a safe installed with organizer storage above it somehow.

Haha thanks man. I really like them but I will be selling them since they are 20s. I want 18s so I can run 35" tires load range C. Not a fan of the ride of E load tires.
