No it acts the same as my original unit with drive and tow modes. Acts as if the MTS button and crawl button aren’t even there. Original and tow drive modes light up on switch and dash when selected. When I click MTS it just stays in drive or tow.

I don’t have the digital dash, my truck is fairly bare bones. I’m wondering if it’s something with canbus with the premium headlights or dashes, but some SR5s have reported it working

I wonder if the PVM is the deciding factor here. It’s the one thing the SR5 had that it did work on, and the one thing the limited didn’t have that it didn’t work on.

I don't want to be a monkey wrench, but my SR5 does not have PVM and I can confirm it works for me.

I stand corrected! This doesn’t make sense to me. I’m tempted to try it.

I am baffled too why it seems to be random on why this mod works. Now, I’ll say that I was able to see the modes come up but don’t really know if it’s doing anything for each of those modes.

I would waiting on my switch, while ordered, is still "processing" and I haven't gotten a tracking number yet. I didn't get the $130 deal, so hope my $175 gamble works out.

Yeah because you have a TRD OR. This thread is about adding the switch and getting access to MTS, but not crawl. I was wondering if anyone got access to the under the truck view. No, that is not part of the PVM, it's part of your off road package.

So forgive my stupidity, but I've been reading which is never a good thing lol.

I don't understand why the crawl/dac does not work. At first I thought it was because we don't have the rear lock differential. But from what I am reading, the Crawl/dac and rear lock differential are two separate systems. They can be used in conjunction, but crawl/dac does not require or even use it. For the trucks with the OR package, the rear lock differential is a separate button along the switches (hazards, load leveling, etc.).

This makes me wonder if it's just a software issue? But that would be weird if you get MTS and not crawl if it is just a software issue. Thoughts?

Is it possible it is a defective unit? If not I'd be interested.

Has anyone confirmed these features are actually working when just installing the physical switch?

There may be some BCM programming missing?

Do you have PVM? I have a non-TRD sport SR5 but have the premium package, convenience package, and premium audio. If you don’t have PVM, you would be the closest to my setup that’s worked.

No PVM for me. Sounds like we’re pretty close in setup. I don’t have the premium audio either, just the 8” head unit.

I was wondering too but it seems unlikely since the top two buttons do work as expected.

Crawl is heavy on the ABS system, it’s basically using the ABS to “lock” the wheels as needed. I’ve dug into some other older FJ, 4R and GX forums. I believe the brake booster is vacuum in the non OR/PRO models and electronic with the ABS built into it in the OR/PRO trims. My guess is this is the case with our trucks.

Good point. Well I'm happy to get it and try it on my truck and see if it's just defective lol.

My thought was to use something to get the writing for Crawl/DAC off, then it would not bug my OCD as much.

2022 SR5 4x4 about as vanilla spec as it gets, no options. Tried installing the switch today and got the same experience as @mikewantsabeer. No lights at all when pressing MTS. Just stays in drive mode or tow haul. Gonna test it out some more over the weekend, since I’ll be going camping, to see if maybe that was a fluke, but I’ll likely be posting my switch on the marketplace next week for $125 shipped. If anyone here wants it, first to respond has dibs.

Disconnected the battery during the install fwiw. Worth the gamble. I’m gonna try to see if maybe there’s a fuse I’m missing or something, but for the driving I do, plain 4x4 is more than enough with how capable these trucks are.
