I went and looked at a SA Ronan today. Very nice and a lot lighter than I imagined.

Thought a lot about what you said and decided against the purchase.

I did put in my hands a lot of other pistols:

I keep going back to the damn Sig P365 AXG Legion. That weapon just feels like a custom made glove. 1200.00 isn't cheap, but cheap stuff usually isn't good/fun either. Like you, I was crazy enough to sell my P226 that I purchased back in the early 90's. Purchased it off a cop that had it in his safe for years and never used it (purchased two). Wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass.

This is the problem I have with the 365....

Another weapon that surprised me was a .380 from S&W. Normally not a Smith guy, but I might just buy it for shitzngiggles. IMG_7367.jpg

Put a Shadow Systems in my hands and thought it was a Glock. Have enough of them.

Stock, with a few cosmetic mods.
    I’ll play:
    From top right clockwise:
    Scandium frame S&W, Commander length.
Foster Ind. (Caspian 2nd) ss frame with a ss slide from a guy who’s name I forgot, well know though. Home assembled and fit by me, 9mm Govt. size so it shoots like a baby.
Another Foster Industries frame w/Colt Govt size slide.
Springfield Armory Govt. factory NM serial #, fwiw. Built in early 80’s iirc.
Top left is my latest purchase, Ed Brown Kobra, early 1743 SN. Shoots like a dream. My fav.
All are .45ACP other than the 9mm Foster.

New grips for the Classic and decided to stick with the DW/VZ factory grips on the Specialist... for now.

Now to get a couple of these to the range this weekend.

Always heard good things about DW autos. Never shot one but I have a few older 357 revos. Nice collection there.

I have the FNX .45 in FDE.
    Love the Damn Thing!!!
It'll shoot pretty much whatever you feed it.
Did have some problems with some white box ammo but it appears that it was only that batch.

So, here's a gun I'd like to have if I came across a clean one: DW Specialist Commander in 9mm. Not sure of exact numbers but production on these was from around 2014/2015 - 2019.

DW re-released the Specialist in 2020, with minor tweaks and some will argue the pre-2019 version is better, but they have yet to re-offer a Commander size in 9mm. Currently 9mm is only available in 5" while 45acp/10mm are available in 5" and 4.25"

I think retail on these new was in the $1300 range and would guesstimate a clean used one would fetch $1500 +/-

This buyer must have FU$$... After taxes and fees that a $3600 gun.

There are a lot of 1911A1 pistols available. They copy the G.I. basic 1911 pistol. I believe Springfield Armory makes one. Another is Rock Island Armory. At least I believe they have them. They're usually I'm the 450-500 dollar range I think.

Not that I'm aware of. MAYBE some acetone but that would probably remove the finish too.

No worries, ended up trading that gun for the DW Classic I have. Eventually plan to replace it with another 10mm.

    Nice!!
Recently had my S&W 10mm reamed to accept 10mm Magnum!!
So recently that I havent had time to shoot it.
We rent a place in East Texas that sits on 10k acres of woods.
Great place to shoot and roam around on the SxS.
The place is covered in lakes of various sizes.
When they built I-10 years ago they got the sand off the property and it left lakes all over the place.
Great Fishing for Largemouth,Crappie and Catfish!!!
Of course ya gotta watch out for Gators and you gotta keep your stringer close to the boat or they become a Gator Snack!!!

I've been considering getting the Osprey myself.
Seeing that threaded barrel everytime I take it out just keeps nagging at me to do the paperwork.

Yeah, it's funny, I'm much more a go guy than a show guy and looks of things aren't really important. However, the Osprey is the exception. Love the flats! It also doesn't look like anything else.
