    Evening all,

I’ve come to realise that i’m not a fan on the tundras seats. After just shy of 12k miles of constant adjustment and recently retrofitting heater elements, it’s not the romantic relationship I’d hoped for!

For context the truck is currently being built out by myself for semi permanent travel and utility in mind. So the seats are a huge part with all the planned miles

Similar experience? care to share what route you went?

Side note: I’ve had experience with Recaro and corbeau seats in cars but never a truck and its been a while. I’m not concerned about retaining the airbags

Have you tried adding spacers to lift the front of the seat?
OEM seats feel more like a bench seat where you sit flat or even slightly sloped down.
Adding a spacer will slope your seat back so you are sitting in the seat more.
I just added some from eBay and am very pleased with the outcome.
There are other options available but some will cost 4 times as much.
For $45. it may be worth a shot for you.

Thank you for the suggestion and no I haven't tried them and honestly didn't know they were a thing.

What you're saying makes total sense about the angle, it's felt so odd for so long and I couldn't put my finger on it because I like to be pretty upright. I'm going to jump right on the ones you've shared and report back. Appreciate it

I too am right on the fence with the Seat Jackers. I can't say I hate the seats as they are, been in a Gen 2/2.5 Tundra for 8+ years now, but something tells me I might enjoy it more if I do it.

Seat jackers were worth it! Highly recommended. Once installed it took me a week to get seat dialed in and get used to the change in position but absolutely improved the comfort.

There are a ton of us who felt the same way - I have had three back surgeries and couldn’t get the seats dialed in. The seat jackers allowed me to get comfortable. I still stop regularly to stretch my legs and stuff on long trips but they made a HUGE difference for me and many others on the forum

Hopefully these will help your situation. for the price, it was hard not to try. I was a little hesitant buying from eBay with a description that says it fits multiple vehicles but I figured worse case I can put them in the GX or my sons 4 runners if they did not fit the Tundra.

Please report back and let everyone know your thoughts on them.

    Many on the way.
Find some Recaro seats. There are various models available both new and used…. Most won’t have the side air bags unless they were an OEM model, but you’ve noted that is not an issue.

Here are the Recaro Sports I put together about 16 years ago for my old 2008 Tundra. I kept them in storage and will be mounting them in my 2011. IMO they are even more important in a truck, which certainly rides rougher and throws the driver around a fair bit more than a car.

LC seats? Sienna minivan seats? Seat Jackers are great, but bandaides can only "heal" so much! Sprinter van seats? Now I'm sharing my inner monologs...

I would like to be able to lock my rear seat down in my 2015 crew Max

all I am finding is storage locks. Nothing to keep the seat locked down for security

You might want to start a new thread for the topic (it's a great idea!) but it's a bit of a hijack of this thread.

I immediately think of a locking mechanism for the handles.

DDI isn't the only company making these. I am not trying to take business away from him, but I personally think he is way over priced compared to the other companies selling these. For 2 pair - DDI $173 (on sale) vs eBay $45. I was very surprised about the fit and quality of the eBay spacers and glad I went this rout and saved some money.

Could be a case of, DDI did the initial need assessment, analysis, "engineering" and development of the seat jackers. Then once they demonstrated the market was there, the ripoffs merely copied his hard work and with no invested time or capitol, can sell their Chinese produced copies cheap.

You may be correct, but does it justify the cost of these to be almost 4 times as much as the copy?

These are installed in my 2006 Lexus LX470. Probably the most comfortable seat I have ever had in a vehicle. Had to use resistors to for the airbag sensors. IMG_1062.jpg IMG_1066.jpg IMG_1062.jpg IMG_1066.jpg

$2k for tires, too, sometimes... you spend the same amount of time in the seat as you drive on tires... comfort is paramount!

To be honest I’m not sure. I’d guess they are lighter as there are not electric motors.

Got the seat jackers in, thanks for the recommendation/link @Bergy24

After starting again with the seat adjustments, I can say it's a worthwhile investment and greatly improves the driving position. I still have gripes with the overall seat in terms of side bolstering and support but the comfort has greatly been improved with the jackers and I can live with them for now.

    Cheers all for your input

    I did the following:

    - got Seat Jackers
    - bought a full set of Katzkin leather seat covers ($950 for the full set, front and back, including seat heaters in front)

I'm not kidding when I say that both were a HUGE upgrade. The Seat Jackers transformed how I sat in the seats (the difference between sitting 'on' and sitting *IN* the seats), and the Katzkins made them that much more comfortable, and added heat - and when you're 49 and/or pull a back muscle or something, it's a big deal.

    HIGHLY recommend doing both.
