Hi, I’m getting everything together to do the switch to the 38 gallon fuel tank. My question is purchased a used tank from a 2018 an it still has the fuel pump in it and I was trying to see if I could use it still. I don’t know if there are different types of fuel pumps through those years or not. Mine is a 2013 by the way. Thanks

If it was a flex fuel vehicle it will have a fuel pump that can push more fuel, those were a higher pressure pump than a non flex fuel truck..just something to keep in mind

You’ll need a pump for the big tank; different from the small tank pump.

Flex fuel pump has three fuel lines connected on top; regular fuel pump has two.

    Is your truck flex fuel?

Yes mine is flex fuel. I’ll try a contact the guy I got it from to see which one he had. More likely I’ll just pull out mine and put it in the bigger one.

just look at the top of the fuel pump since the tank is out. The hose connection points will verify.

Just took some pictures of it when I got home. Looks like it’s the 3 hose.

My 2010 FFV (flex fuel truck) had a 26 gallon like all the rest. I added the Toyota 38 gallon and ordered a new original pump. Theres nothing else that needs to be done with the pump, its plug and play.
Either way flex fuel or NON flex fuel the pump from the OLD tank will plug and play into the new tank.
I welded in the extra support crossmember for the front 38 gallon strap, moved the brake lines and had to move the emergency brake pivot up. I also bought new straps so I could use the OEM gas tank skid plate for the 38 gallon tank. The old straps didn't have the studs to mount the skid plate.
The MILES TO EMPTY will now never be correct. The calculation is done in the instrument cluster which never had the option for the 38 gallon tank, it still thinks the max is 26 gal. You just have to do it manually.

So do you think I can use the fuel pump that’s in the 38 gallon right now and be good? That all I’m trying to figure out is if will still work with me truck since it’s coming from a 2018 and mines a 2013. Also did you just order a new fuel pump for the 38 gallon or was it for the 26 gallon. Thanks

I ordered a fuel pump for my VIN 2010 FFV which was the 26 gallon. The 38gal was not offered for the 2010. The depth of the 26 gal vs the 38 gal = they are the same. The 38 gal is just longer.
As long as the pump in the 38 gallon matches your truck it will work FFV which I see it does from your pictures, YES it will work.

should be plug and play for the pump, use a new "O" ring on the top of the tank too.

You'll need to move the brake lines on the passenger side, they are inside the frame rail and can be gently (bent) moved to make room for the crossmember. We trimmed the crossmember a bit for clearance too. Measure carefully when installing the front crossmember for the tank. I choose to weld it in.
The emergency brake pivot is on the top of the drivers frame rail and will need to be spaced up so the cables clear the tank.. I used longer bolts, nuts and washers.
I'll go try to get pics and add them here shortly
