Does your wife / husband carry a weapon?

My wife carries a S&W J frame .38 SPL plus Sabre Red / Fox Labs pepper spray. I drilled it into her "carry your tools!"

As soon as her holster comes in, she'll be carrying a Browning 1911-.380 that she likes quite a bit.

What about your better half? She packing?

The wife's EDC is a LCP 380.

 

What would you say, is their commitment to carry?

Mine is somewhat hit and miss about bringing it everywhere. She is less likely to be armed if I'm going along.

She was into the idea for a while. She's got a gun, shes taken training classes, but I think she lost interest.

 

She never carries and I only carry when I travel.

I'm sorry to hear that. I still ask mine when she goes out alone "got your tools?" and often I pat her down to make sure.

For the most part, the USA is super safe country. Thus, most people don't carry and simply cannot conceive of being victimized. I have a neighbor that is part of his church's armed security team YET he refuses to carry a firearm outside of church. Strange.

In other conversations he's very upset with open carry, seems to think "if you carry a gun you should be a cop," and that "if you defend yourself you are going to prison."

I think the blanket coverage of the attempted prosecutions of high profile cases such as George Zimmerman and Kyle Rittenhouse has basically terrified the older generation into being scared to defend themselves. That generation is most likely (like my dad) to sit in front of a TV all day and night and watch nothing but cable news.

My dad is an excellent example of "have permit, never carry."

Further, and I may be out-of-line here, thankfully I'm sure you'll correct me if I am, but a fellow member accusing another of being an undercover federal agent then it being mentioned that those get banned, well, that comes across as well, rather odd. However, that suggestion didn't earn a rebuke. Again, I'm rather new here, just what is allowed and what's not?
