I'm 30+ mins away.
Definitely not country, but definitely not a city boy either. More of a rural suburban town. This town is growing though. Houston has officially started to push into the next town over and in 2027 construction of the third loop (99) will begin in my town. We are the last section I believe. 3/4 of the loop is already done on the north-east thru the south west.

If some one comes to me and says I'm from xxxx TX, I'm not gonna know where that is. If they say I'm from DFW, or H-town, I'll know that. I don't tell people I'm from Canyon TX, I tell them Amarillo. 5 minutes out vs 30 minutes out isn't about time, but time per capita. There's 300k people in the Amarillo metro vs 6M in the Houston metro. That's a 1:60k ratio for me and a 1:200k for you. If I leave my house and drive to my mom's on the complete north end of Amarillo, it takes 30 minutes. If I count Amarillo as only having 200k people, that puts us the same on the per capita scale.

Also, Houston is only the largest city if you don't count the metro area(which is stupid. It's all connected.), DFW is.

T2S/Moab prep progress. Gonna remove front diff, steering rack, and the whole exhaust system tomorrow. Really dislike rebuilding/valving shocks so gonna do 1 a day.
