    Hello
I went to the dealer today get an my 60K oil change and I requested for them to change the transmission oil as well and the mechanic stated that since I don't tow it does not need to be changed until 100K. Does that sound right? I did not do my 4running until 90K but everyone tell me at 60k you must change the transmission oil.

He did recommend changing the drive belt because it was glazing and miscolor is that normal for 60K? In the mornings I do hear some squeaking.
    Thx

Change the tranny fluid! Period! Drive belt? You mean the serpentine belt? Not a bad idea to change that too, depending on not just mileage, but however old you truck is (you don't indicate year).

Definitely change the fluid, probably a good idea to change the belt since you are hearing a squeak.

Out of curiosity if my transmission had an issue would be evident when they change oil? Truck drive fine i have not real issues. I was taken back when the mechanic said it was not needed.

You shouldn't see anything in the fluid, except it will likely be a little more toward a shade of reddish brown instead of pretty red color when you compare old to new. If it's really dark, and smells burned, you have the beginnings of a problem. After 60K miles you should be fine, and see very little difference. But this idea of "lifetime" fluid and 100K changes is not good, whether you tow or not. I personally would not go over 50K.
