Found my source of a very small leak. Cleaned off my engine to find a small crack on the front right valve cover bolt and near the oil fill cap. Not sure how far it goes into the front of my engine. It seems to cause low oil pressure only when idling and the rest of the time driving it is about normal. My coolant is not leaking nor is it milky and the oil leak is very small. Looking for ways around this and wondering if i could just have the crack jb welded. Any advice?

If the crack is in the valve cover, replace the valve cover, and do the cover gaskets while you're in there.

Sheeeeit... a new rocker cover and you're done.

I was expecting to see a conx rod peeking through.

Should be able to find a good used one in a salvage yard. Those engines were plentiful. Don't F around with JB Weld. Do it right.

My advice, replace the valve cover and use a torque wrench to secure the new one so it doesn't get overtorqued again.
