I have a hybrid Limited with the JBL system. I bought a Carista and turned off the enhanced engine sound, but my truck sounds exactly the same. Either it never worked in my truck, or wasn't there bc it's a hybrid?? I turn it on and off and the engine sounds exactly the same.

Drive it around. Hybrid will have the noise. Turned off mine in my Hybrid and noise went off.

Have you had the truck since new?
Does it have any aftermarket audio upgrades?
It's noticeable. Someone got to it before you did.

Yes bought the truck new in June of 2023 and it has 39k miles. No upgrades. Carista said the setting was "on". I have perfect hearing, so that's not it. I really think it just never worked in my truck, so turning it off did nothing.

So, even with the stereo turned off. You still have a sound?

I hear the motor, if that is the "sound".

My truck was the same way. I have a 1794, so it was suppose to have the fake engine noise. When I turned it off using Carista, I didn't notice any difference.

I just chalked it up to my 63 year old ears that have endured too much loud music and too many gun shot blasts.

Had my piped in engine noise turned off by the 'Stealership' when they installed a new oxy sensor on my 2025 and like it better off.

I have a 23 1794 myself and wondered about the fake engine sound too.....
    Working? Not working?

Does turning off the radio will disable the sound?
Maybe pulling the fuse to the radio might be a little better of a way to kill it temporarily.

I don't think turning off the radio disables it. The easiest way to shut it off is with Carista. Or have your dealership do it.

I have a Limited '24 TRD OR. Going in for the first 6 mon checkup. Dealer already said they would turn off the fake engine noise when I take it in for free. The engine sound will improve when I install the AWE exhaust system.
They are in the San Diego area isn't far from me and they will install for free and give military and 1st responder discount.

I just used the Carista OBD today to turn off the crazy wake-the-dead seat belt chimes and also turned off the engine sound. I drove it down the street and found that I liked it better with the sound on, so I turned it back on. I guess I'm shallow. haha.
Also changed it to roll down all windows with my remote.

The same, turned mine off, but having owned it for more than a year, grew accustom to it, and turned it back on. God awful seat belt chime disabled. I always wear it while driving, but when shuffling cars around the driveway, don't need to hear the g-damn thing barking because it doesn't stop. Also did the remote window control, and bumped the AC setting down too. Happy to help anyone on the West Side of Cleveland make any adjustments too if they would like.
