She is definitely batshit crazy and clearly has a problem keeping her coo-coo in the clock. However, with that being said, I'd definitely smash that w/ @LarryDangerfield 's dick, at his place, after picking her up w/his 4runner and wearing a full Dexter approved no DNA 'kit', cuz Larry needs it :D

    "unfortunate"

They were selling the data to Police depts, pharm companies...and the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

I wonder what folks thought was going to happen?

    LOL.

My wife watches all those murder shows at night...all of the perps get caught when they look at the DNA charts.

Yep. And now there’s a beautiful database that can be used for all kinds of nefarious purposes. Up to and including setting insurance rates.

You guys ever did one of those four-square personality tests? I got to finally a few weeks ago. This is my manager’s response to my team’s dynamics imploding 4 months ago.

I am solidly in the “Fuck around and find out” corner.

So today I get to talk about my results, and my peer’s results, with my manager and a mediator in a stupid group-grope.

What will really be interesting is the debrief I have with my manager this afternoon. Not sure my filter will be recharged by then…

    Yes.

    and congrats.

that kind of test is VERY diagnostic & relatively accurate.

the problem is, when the company gets the results...changes are not made.

We did this at the Beer distrib...get this...it told us the middle managers were WAY more effective and mature than the C-Level folks.

and.....nothing happened. but, now we knew.

Kinda scary how accurate they are. I didn’t agree with the top-level terminology but the details are a bunch of “Yep, that’s me”. The stuff that’s not accurate is more situational…

I have decided to start applying for jobs with other employers. The place I'm at just struggles with maintaining a normal workload for the Accounting/Finance department and basically expects everyone who is salary to put in 200 hours a month including most weekends without the pay reflecting that level commitment. I can work like that for a few months, which I did upon accepting my current role, however it is clear to me that 200+ hours a month is the baseline. It's a level of effort I just can't maintain. It's also become darn near impossible to schedule doctor appointments due to constant deadlines.

The organization makes promises to their funders with regards to deadlines for work without any consideration of what their staffing levels are and what we can actually accomplish. I knew the place had a rep for turning and burning/constantly firing staff but they kept assuring me that the culture had changed and that it wouldn't continue happening and that we would have proper staffing at the appropriate levels.

I really struggled with this decision as they kept dangling a carrot saying that they will bring in more staff, promote me to a higher level with better pay but they actually gutted the entire accounting department as part of a "reorganization" and basically expected the handful of people remaining to pick up the workload for everyone who left.

My attitude went from being positive and optimistic to very negative and pessimistic which is the signal to me that it's time to move on. As of this morning, I applied for 2 open jobs and submitted my resume to a recruiter. Fingers crossed that within 30-60 days I'm somewhere else with a more reasonable workload, work life balance and also better pay.

I'm really kicking myself as I saw the red flags going into this job and accepted their story that they were turning things around. Well they are, however it is at the expense of their current people all burning out.

My current direct report has already let me know that he has updated his resume and will be reaching out to recruiters as he sees the writing on the wall. I feel bad for him as he did what I did and accepted the job in good faith and quickly realized that the workload isn't remotely reasonable and that the pay doesn't reflect the level of commitment required.
