This is such a bizarre thread. People use their cars/trucks for very different things, hence the multitude of options. Get what works for you, respect other people’s choices for their lifestyles, why is that so hard?

Not bizarre, shows how the trucks are useful to some people and not to others. Go be butthurt somewhere else

Sorry, yes, don’t want to take away from the normal and helpful answers. There are some very “my way or the highway” responses though which is what I’m really referring to.

When I first saw the 3rd Gen DC back seat it was obvious it’s purpose was to piss off any adult relegated to sit in it.

When I went to order my truck in Feb 2023, I asked about a CM. Salesmen said there were 65 orders ahead of me. I asked about the DC. He replied, "No one wants those. You would be #1 on the list." I got my Limited a month later.

The other side benefit was that my friends hate riding in the back seat. So when we all go out, we take someone else's vehicle.

Normally I would be concerned about resale value. But with my age and poor health, this is the last vehicle I will own.

Having said that, if this engine holds up and Toyota moves past the drama, resale value will rebound.

Especially since I replaced the black Tokico factory shocks with Bilstein 4600s.

Crewmax with 5 ft bed is just a huge sedan missing a trunk lid...

Seriously though the 6.5 ft bed was way more important to me than a huge cab along with fitting in the garage and keeping the overall wheelbase shorter for somewhat better maneuverability. Therefore opted for the double cab myself. Rear seat has plenty of room for hunting or fishing gear in the cab. In the rare instance someone other than the wife wants to tag along, they'll just have to deal with it...

if you’re 6 foot and under the backseat of the double cab is perfectly fine and 90 percent of Americans aren’t six feet tall but this is the internet so of course everyone lies for some bizzare reason especially about height so 90 percent of the internet is over 6 foot 2

Im 5’9 my buddy is 5’10 or 5’11 we fit perfectly fine and we are not stick figures so not sure where these small children you’re talking about come from unless they’re some giant cornfed monsters from the south
But like I said this is the internet so it’s another notion that only a underdeveloped fetus can fit in the backseats or a double cab

edit I should clarify this is in the back seat of my second gen double cab not sure how big or small the third gen double cab is

It's funny how so many people think everyone else uses a truck for exactly what they use it for. Buy what suits you and be happy!! I love all the room in the CM back seat, and I use the truck more for towing so the short bed works perfectly.

I just traded a 2016 DC in for a 2025 CM. I immediately miss the 6.5ft bed. When I bought the 2016, it was important to me to be able to sleep in the bed. It's also nice to be able to just throw skis in the bed instead of having to buy a roof rack and figure out how to step up the side of the truck that's covered with road salt and grime to get the skis on the roof. Sheets of plywood don't stick as far out the back window. So on and so on. When I bought this CM I thought I wouldn't miss the extra length, but man, I already do. The extra room in the back seats is wasted on me. We don't have kids, and it's just unused space.
