Just picked up my TRD pro and want to lift it about 2.5 inches. I have read mixed reviews about the Westcott, but have not found reviews about the Rough Country 2.5 lift kit. The RC has uca’s and a few more parts, but I only want to do this once. Looking for info, and any other alternatives. Thanks

I guess Westcott is the proven performer for the Pro Kit versus RC.

To me, the price point and and the UCA’s along the the shock extenders and the little extras, RC seems the best.

They both are preload spacers. Which seems like the only option for the Pro as of now. Maybe Eibach will release lift coils for the new Pro’s later.

I’m guess I’m curious by why drop all that coin on a pro only to shove a spacer lift in there?

why not go with a platinum or limited (which the pro is based on) and go with the oem trd 3” real suspension lift or other full lift?

Anyone got these? I'm curious whether this impacts the geometry to a point where you need to change out the UCA's and/or any other components? Pros and Cons to this setup?

I've been hesitant to get spacers. It was either leave it bone stock TRD Pro or spring setup that could work with the OE PRO Fox Stock Suspension. Don't really want to modify this truck by any significant means. Any insights would be great. I'm not suspension guru by any means.

I think you had it right before, leave it stock and skip the spacer or go "all-in" and full suspension upgrade.

no reason to half ass it, Im pretty sure you can fit 35"s on a stock pro, so thats good enough as thats load E and a hit to MPG and acceleration as it is.

    just my .02 though

Good question…not a spacers lift guy either but I did have it on my 22 SR5 that I had previously (Westcott anyway…which some will say is a glorified spacer lift). The ride was harsh with the Wescott so wasn’t pleased.

For me I wanted all the pro styling hence my current 24 Pro but would like a non spacer lift that doesn’t involve removing all the Fox/Pro suspension components.

My current evaluation is either Dobsons or these.

I don’t tow much so don’t need some of the stiffer rates Dobsons provide, but I have not seen much reviews on these to see how they stack up and how they would work with the Fox/Trd components that I plan to keep.

1 year later I may have done a platinum (do those have a TRD OR Option…crawl, climb, decent, et?).

    ya, that makes sense

and yes you can get a TRD off road platinum now.

shoving a spacer in is going to make it ride worse, IMO just like you experianced
