2026 Tundras...

Does anybody have insider scoop on what could be coming for the 2026 Tundras?
I know we're only a few months away from finding out but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

 

Nothing wrong with asking and wish I knew the answer. I was thinking about a 25 but with it being close to 26's coming out I think I will just wait and get a 26.

Not 100% sure though because I'm a little concerned how prices might be affected if tariff crap happens.

Only thing I've watched recently on 26's is You tube videos and some of them are AI so who knows if true.

All based on recent years Toyota HQ in Plano usually will announce full 26MY line up around June timeline and usually display to public during Texas state fair.
Most JOEM factories shut down during week of July 4th to retool next model year production, unless it’s FMC. Based on these Fleet production end date screenshots we should see 2026 arriving in Nov.

 

Since the Tundra has as much or more domestic USA content in it as a F150. I would think it would make little to no difference other than the inflation bump.

 

Refresh or MMC is due for this model

 

Pundits are saying that the F150 will have up to a $9000.00 CDN price increase due to the tariff situation.... not because the truck is crossing a border, because the truck parts go back and forth across the border while they are being assembled. Maybe the Tundra has fewer parts sourced from Mexico and Canada, I have no idea but I am pretty sure that the Tundra prices will increase.

 

I'd imagine it would be delayed since extra resources/capital/effort normally used for a refresh are being diverted to the recall.

 

Yep, that is assuming if the Tariffs are still in effect then, I have a feeling that they will be resolved in the next few months.

 

I hope that you are correct re the tariffs being resolved quickly. I am not quite as optimistic as yourself. I think this will get uglier before it gets better.

 

2022 Model Year - November 2021 through May 2022 & May 2022 through September 2022
2023 Model Year - September 2022 through August 2023
2024 Model Year - August 2023 through March 2024 & March 2024 through August 2024
2025 Model Year - August 2024 through current day

 

A 2026 mid-cycle refresh is not going to happen for the Tundra.

If history is any indicator, they’ll remove features they say buyers don’t actually use and pair this with a mild styling update in 2028. Some updated safety tech, if any, will slowly get added as the generation gets long in the tooth.

I wish my truck had the full overhead console, interior storage, and transfer case that is somewhat easily mod-able to fulltime 4wd of the earlier 2nd gen trucks. But Toyota got rid of all that with the 2014 mid-gen refresh

 

Makes sense from last gen. If history is the same for Tacoma. Tundra and Tacoma will both have MMC in 2028.

 

Appreciate the feedback. I was waiting on getting a 2025 for the 2026 refresh, but if no refresh, no reason to wait. How sure are you that there will be no 2026 refresh?

Since I plan on getting one the price will be much higher than 2025.

2026 Change: 5.7 V8 and FT 4WD transfer case from the 200 series Land Cruiser will be available on the 1794 and Platinum for an additional $4,995. I’d buy it tomorrow.

V8 ain’t ever coming back. The iForce and iForce max offer way more power and torque at less rpms than the V8 ever did.

 

A guy can dream! FWIW, I’m sure I tow more than 95% of truck owners and never once have I thought it would be worth trading the durability and reliability of the 5.7 for the low end torque and potential catastrophic failure of the 3.4TT. Admittedly, if I lived in the mountains, I might feel differently. If Toyota would only fix the issue, we could all have the best of both worlds with the 3.4. I don’t need a million mile motor, but I don’t want a disposable motor either…. and I’m not one of those consumers that will overlook the headaches and financial losses of a bad motor because the rest of the truck is so nice. At this point, I’m waiting for deeper discounts on the 2025/2026 or better yet, a redesigned 3.4TT motor.

 

what is the issue that you all keep referring to? I have no issues or issues with my Truck. I may have issues that you all have issues which were caused by an issue which gives you issues.

Yep, exactly. The issue is the issues for sure. That issue is definitely the sticking point when you think about it, and all the other issues you’d have to deal with if “that” issue becomes “the” issue. But as they say, “the” issue is just mind over matter… and if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter…. enjoy the truck!

 

Still dream of full time 4 wheel drive. But im sure it wont happen like having a bumper that that you can still use when the tailgate is down wont happen. Toyota is far behind the major three truck companies as it does not have the usability as other brands. I will still buy a refresh tundra when it comes out, but wont lift it this time like i did my 2022. As I am getting older it sucks when I have to jump each time to get into my bed. I know there is after market bumper and drop down steps. But really sucks when you are paying over 60k for a truck when a chevy that cost 15k cheap comes standard with a bumper sidestep.

 

The problem with having a bumper step like GM does is that GM put a patent on that specific type of step. But I’m sure Toyota will probably address something like that in the mid cycle refresh.

Toyota PR team: it’s high time to bring back the 5.7!!

 

Toyota built a completely new truck in 2022 from the ground up so that's when they should of done something about the tailgate. Also I guess if you want a hybrid you don't need to carry anything under the back seat LOL I get why they did that design wise but no storage in the back kinda sucks. Guess if you want storage you have to get the fancy model with the under seat storage
