Anyone try out this product? Been hearing about thieves hacking through OBD port.

Securing my Tundra one item at a time. So far cat shield and remote power tail gate. Thinking of OBD next. And yes I’m aware nothing is 100% but any deterrence is better than nothing.

Not I, only thing I've heard of people doing is installing kill switches. Since this is essentially an OBD T harness I wonder if you couldn't just cut one of your OBD wires, crimp a male/female spade terminal on the cut wire, and leave it disconnected until you need to connect an OBD tool.

Where exactly have you been "hearing" this? I have never heard anything about this on Tundras. What would you "hack" through the OBD that would make it easier to steal? Doesn't the ignition have to be on for the OBD to function?

First time I’m seeing this product. Seems very easy unlike other products out there? How do you like the kill switch? Seems easy to install. Is it reliable? Effective in your imo? How long have you had it? When it’s activated and your try to start it what do you see on your dash- does it just look like ignition on mode with all the lights on but engine is not turning?

I first saw it here: What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Simple install: just replace the starter relay with the one provided, fish the wires thru the firewall and find a spot to install the switch.

Only had it about a month or so and don't always use it at home, mostly for if I'm somewhere where I just want some additional piece of mind.

If you try to start the vehicle with the switch activated the dash lights up but won't turn over.

If you re-set it and start the truck, you'll likely get a check engine light and Traction Control error message. The vendor says it will go off after you "cycle the engine a few times". I cycled my engine 3X and nothing, so I just pulled the neg batt cable and let it sit for about 10min....cleared the CEL and no other issues to report since.

they're more likely to clone your wireless key fob, unless Toyota has a specific odb fail point

Hassle with the check engine light. I’ll pass. Thanks for the info though.

That’s why I disable my key fob everytime I lock up. Hold the lock button and press unlock twice. Red light flashes 4 times. Only drawback is you will lose the Auto Unlock feature when you put your hand under the handle.

I got a Ring alert nearby and a Tacoma owner said crooks tried to steal his truck by hacking his Obd port but he luckily scared them off.
