    Howdy all,

Firstly, thank you to those who built and maintain this site for all of us to share and learn from each other. Forums like these are indispensable fountains of knowledge!

Second, I just bought my first Tundra, a 2016 SR5 in Silver Sky, optioned with the SR5 upgrade, Safety, towing and TRD Off-Road packages as well as the brushed aluminum side steps. Additional equipment that previous owners added include an RC integrated bumper light bar, and a Leer camper shell.

I plan to use it as my daily, for towing our TT (Arctic Fox m-22GQ 7200lbs. max wet) as well as for hunting (mainly Chukar) here in Northern Nevada.

Short term mods to be done by summer camping season include the Boost Tow Mirrors, upgraded yellow fogs (one fog light is already burnt out so good time to make the upgrade), and some sort of overhead storage solution (not a fan of drilling or epoxying a rack so lumbar rack or chase rack with over-cab storage seem to be the only options).

I know new member posts often get overlooked but I welcome anyone's two cents on the above!

    Thanks everyone!

What are you planning on carrying on the rack? I've drilled multiple toppers and never had an issue. Both tracks and fixed side mount rain gutters for a rack system.

I wouldn't have a problem with drilling into the leer shell/topper if that's what you were referring to, but I need something over the cab in the summer when the shell/topper is off the truck. The bed will have my motorcycle in it and the paddle boards are long enough to hit the TT on sharp turns sticking out of the back of the bed. (Ran into that issue on a 6ft bed previously). The chase rack I found seems to be just right, except for costing over a grand!

damn. Quite a pickle with all of these use cases. I'd store the paddle boards in the TT and forgo the rack at that cost. :spending:

Having to take a topper off and put a different rack on would drive me insane. Plus I'm sure getting a moto in the bed under a rack would be an adventure in itself. Looking forward to the build though.
