    Don't have a Tundra (yet)
    Hi folks,

I am new to the forum, on the hunt for a new-to-me Tundra. Specifically a Double Cab with a 6.5ft bed. Based on the great resources here, I've narrowed my search down to a 2018-2021 SR5 with the SR5 Upgrade Package. One owner, with maintenance records, etc.

I found two Tundra that are local-ish and could use some help determining if this pricing is reasonable. I am pretty sure Truck 2 is overpriced.

    Truck 1:
    • 2021 w/ 40K miles, one owner, NorCal truck
    • Listed as an "SR" but from zooming in on the pics, I see badging behind the rear door, fog lights, and the chrome front/rear bumper...leads me to believe it's actually an SR5
    • Looks like it has SR5 upgrade package because of bucket seats w/ center console
    • BUT it has a regular keyed-start (not push to start, which I thought was standard on 2021s?)
    • Color matched ARE cap with sliders
    • $38K firm
    Truck 2:
    • 2021 w/ 40K miles, one owner, Oregon truck
    • SR5 with SR5 upgrade package
    • Color matched LEER Cap with Windoors
    • Method Wheels, General Grabber tires
    • Leveled in front, airbags in the back
    • Asking $47K
Double Cabs seem much harder to come by. I am pretty set on going private sale (no tax on a private sale in my state).

    My questions:
    • Is Truck 1 an SR5?
    • If so, I think the clear answer is Truck 1 between the two, but is that a reasonable price in today's market? It initially felt high, but this config seems harder to find in low mile examples...

    Many thanks.

Pics of Truck 1 for reference:

Yars so truck 1 is definitely an SR5 with the upgrade package (grill color, chrome pieces, Tundra badge on door, wheels, truck color, center console are the tells). SR5s in 2021 did not come standard with smart keys, nor does the upgrade package add it. I would buy truck 1 unless there is some unknown issue. The color matched caps are good indicators the owner was likely older and did not abuse the vehicle (but never know). Truck 1 having stock suspension, highway tires and the original rims is a good sign to me. The seat covers are throwing me off, not sure why they would do that unless had pets or something, I would look at the seats underneath those, may be mint condition. Assuming 4x4. Go buy it before someone else does.

    When I bought mine new:

Beware that double cab bed isn't supported very well underneath. More or less sits in mid air up at the front as I understand it. Just a heads up in case it matters for your purpose. Happy truck shopping!

If you have the VIN#'s you can check thru the Toyota website to find all the info on each truck.

I have a 2021 SR5 and it has a regular key start, not keyless. I find it endearing rather than a shortcoming, but my point is that key was not standard on the 2021s.

This is great intel -- thank you all. I am prioritizing Truck 1. @Jim LE 1301 , I didn't realize anyone could check through Toyota's site. I thought you had to be an owner tied to a vehicle. That's going to be hugely helpful.

@2mchfun -- don't have any major plans for heavy loads. Some sort of drawer system, a cap, and some camping + personal SAR gear will take up bed real estate for the most part. Good to know though.

Truck 2 is priced about $5k higher than new MSRP 4 years ago for an SR5 upgrade only double cab… that’s insane.

Truck 1 seems within the price range in my area.
Truck 2 is way too high in my opinion.

As for the key vs push button start, My 21 SR5 with the upgrade package uses a key. Rather prefer it that way, myself.

2021 is a candidate for steering rack failure, I think? One in every four. Toyota replaces it under recall, but something to keep in mind.
