She told me it was trashy. I laughed at her. She then told me it made me look old (you can't ever see it unless I really open my mouth wide). I laughed even harder.

My whole existence has been based on this principal. No one I know, has gotten away with more than I have and most everyone I know thinks she's the best wife ever because of it.
With that said, I don't abuse it and I'm not a piece of shit.

Extremely windy here since yesterday. Forecast is for a major snow dump overnight and throughout the day tomorrow.

When I was up in AK in 2012 for 10 months, I got to meet Roy. A real "sourdough", living in Sterling on the Kenai River. Prolly in his 90's then. He had a great vintage chainsaw collection. I got to hold a Mastodon tusk he found near McGrath where he had a gold claim. For sale. $30K! He took me into his woodshop where he was making Diamond Willow walking sticks. Google Diamond Willow. Beautiful stuff. I was up in Aurora this past weekend and stopped by Pasternack's Pawn. The owner is a friend. He was a linebacker for Metro State in Denver back in the day when Metro had a football team. I was perusing around and spotted a walking stick. Damn! A Diamond Willow for $90. I offered $65. Got it. A steal. He didn't know what he had. I spruced it up and put a new rubber end on it. I could get $300 easy for it since it's a larger stick. My hip has been bothering me lately. Score!

No shit. I was not happy, especially considering if I had any idea I needed this much work (had to postpone going due to other obligations) I would have taken the "high" option during last years open enrollment.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 PM MDT TUESDAY

    * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and
6 inches valley floors, 6 to 12 inches benches. Accumulations
across southern Salt Lake County near Herriman and Bluffdale will
likely be closer to the lower end of the range.

    * WHERE...Salt Lake Valley.

    * WHEN...From midnight tonight to 6 PM MDT Tuesday.

    * IMPACTS...Winter driving conditions can be expected on all valley
routes. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning
commute. Consider postponing travel until later in the morning

    * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will quickly fall to valley
floors behind a cold front Monday night. Snow, heavy at times
will continue behind the front into Tuesday morning, transitioning
to snow showers later Tuesday morning. Additional snow
accumulation is likely Tuesday night into Wednesday morning south
and east of the Great Salt Lake. If this lake effect snow remains
in a coherent, persistent band, the Winter Storm Warning may need
to be extended. This would also bring accumulating snow to the
Tuesday evening commute across Salt Lake County.

Best on past projections, it could be 2" to 18" - great in the mountains but not in the valleys when commuting - especially because I have a 8 am meeting tomorrow.

I should add, that up in McGrath, way above where trees grow, lots of willows. His claim was placer. While digging up pay from an old creek bed, he found two tusks over the years. Permafrost! These tusks weren't petrified. Ivory! Blue in color on the outside. Surprisingly light. Bucket List shit. I can't find my pics, but it did happen. My private Idaho!

Hate to say it but the only thing Dental Insurance reliably covers is going in to get your teeth cleaned every 6 months. Anything more than that and you are paying out of pocket. That is assuming your dentist is in-network.

I'm going to have to disagree.
Although I realize I am an exception to the norm..

I'm in the process of getting my lower teeth replaced.
Pulled the 9 lower teeth (and 2 bridges) I had left, and put in 6 implants, I will end up with a full set of Zircona lower teeth..
Total cost $24K, out of pocket $8K.

    upload_2025-3-17_19-17-42.png

I had the uppers done 13 years ago, back then we had a $1500 annual limit.
My out-of-pocket for the top was $22.5K..

Sometimes it does work out to be Union..

Checking out a 1999 Arctic Cat 500 4X4 atv this Sunday. Recently totally gone through. A new $700 OEM carb tweaked for 7000+ altitude. New brakes, front and rear diff oil. Engine oil. Seller flushed out everything. $3K. Great condition. Near me in Ft Garland. Below book price. These were quite pricey back then.
