Just wanted to see if others running this kit had similar fitment issues. I was VERY disappointed.

I replaced the factory foglights with new housings and LED bulbs a few months back. Holy crap are they bright and light up a very large area.

Just for funzies, I decided to grab the Foxbeam mount kit and some Diode Dynamics SS3 Pros. I love DD lights, by the way.

The fitment is so far off it's not even funny. Since there's some play, I moved them up a bit but the gap was just.....larger than I thought it would be. I ended up pulling them and going back to the prior set up. I ordered new bezels, white lenses and now mounts and will swap them for my smaller DD ditch lights.

As the OEM fogs can only be run (from factory) with low beams, I'm gonna see if I can add a hot lead through my switch panel to run them independently as well. Just curious if mine was an anomaly or if that's how all of those shrouds are.

Is it possible you have an aftermarket bumper skin, as in someone had a minor incident and replaced it, and maybe the opening isn't quite the same diameter as OEM?

Did you follow the install instructions to the letter?

I had a small install problem, but after adjusting, they fit evenly with an even ~2mm gap around the perimeter of the housing. It's not a perfect fit, but it definitely fits better than what I'm seeing in yours. Given it's a cast part (best I can tell) there should be zero variation in the part itself.

I'd ask you if you confirmed the adjuster is fully seated, since that will make the housing push forward, but I'd also warn you based on my install problem linked there, you don't want to use any significant force on the housing.

Yeah...I watched the install videos. Only install issue I had was a few of the shroud tabs broke...they're super tight. It was fully seated...adjuster as well. With regard to the bumper skin....that might be a possibility. Either way, as above, I'm just converting them to ditch lights with the new parts. Was just curious if they were supposed to fit like mine did or....

I mean, I don't feel like mine fit that sloppy. But I also bought directly from (Josh?), and not from Diode Dynamics. I don't know if the ones I purchased were manufactured the same as you. It's totally possible something changed.

I'd be lying if I told you I felt they fit snug. But I understand why that ~2-3mm of outer gap exists: If it wasn't there, you'd have no up/down adjustment. And let's be real, if you haven't taken the time to aim them, or you didn't ballpark the adjusters in to have roughly the same threading setting as the OEM, you may be pitched too low/too high, which would leave excessive gap top or bottom. When I installed mine, I made sure to check the adjusters before and kept them in the same ballpark. First thing I did after install was dial-in the beam alignment, and I found one light was out a couple threads, the other was out about half that.

I personally like the light output, it casts more out and to the side than forward than the OEM did, and the beam is more concentrated.

I do know from experience that the DC's need Sequoia foglights to fit properly. Mine would wiggle up and down when I used the ones that 'fit a Tundra'. They did fit better than in your pic, but perhaps that may be the issue?

IIRC, Foxbeam says the kit is for Tundra and Sequoia. But you may've just nailed the issue.

I'll check mine when I get home later. But I think mine have a decent gap and I was surprised by it. But you have to get down low to see it.

Free to a good home. I'm cerakoting some other bezels grey this week...so if someone wants them grey...let me know. Just send me a flat rate USPS label and I can ship em out. NOT SELLING THEM....DON"T BAN ME.....these are FREE. I say that because I got a 3 day ban 2 weeks ago for god knows what...and none of the mods would tell me why.

Sorry it took me way longer than I thought to get the pictures. I also swapped out the adjusters on mine because they were broken. And I managed to break a bezel when I took out the passenger side. Which apparently I had the bezels on upside down. The arrows didn't line up. I have a decent gap up top, but I also aimed my fogs all the way down to adjust for my lift and get people to stop flashing brights at me.

I broke mine too on install. The design is good, but not sturdy enough on the outer posts. I reached out. He sent a replacement part.

Ya it’s a little brittle. Probably because it’s getting exposed to cold and warm temps right now. You can barely see the glue on at about 2 o’clock on my passenger side. But so far it’s holding together.

You could probably use the stock blanks and have a more snug fit and have the light adjustable inside the blank. That how I had them setup on my old truck.

I ordered the Foxbeam Tundra kit (not the complete kit) and am going to install with a pair of DD SS3 fog lights. When attempting to remove the adjuster screw mechanism on my factory fog lights, the plastic insert broke that the adjustment screw threads into. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo.
Anyone know where I could get this plastic piece aside from buying a new set of Amazon fog lights?

Sadly I don't know other than eBay or junkyard. Both mine broke off and I luckily had an old pair from my other truck that were still in good shape. Might be able to fashion something with a washer or hopefully someone will have better ideas for you.

Speaking of, has anyone had issues with the color fading? One side specifically has faded really bad. Looks like the plastic bumper step after sitting in the sun for 20 years.

Yea, definitely brittle plastic by this time 20yrs in. There are similar types of adjustment screw plastic inserts on Amazon but I'm just not sure if they would fit

I was surprised to see in the photo @shifty` took of the snapped Foxbeam bracket that it was white beneath the black surface. I expected a solid black plastic all the way through

I still have my OEM fogs somewhere, I think.

No fading yet, that I've noticed. But the truck stays parked in garages or under trees most of the time when it's out, so no direct sunlight

Odd. Same I park in the garage and it's only the one side. I'll try and get a picture. Maybe it's a defect and I should reach out to Foxbeam about it.

Nick was pretty quick to respond to me when mine snapped an arm.

I've also noticed while on the interstate driving, one of them is moving a little bit in its housing. I think it's the passenger side, I noticed driving up to a job in Helen GA this week, early AM, it almost looked like the light was flickering approaching a really shiny bus. Like a little back/forth wiggle, super subtle but it'd be the kind of thing that would piss me off if I was incoming toward it.

I got distracted and never got back to this. I reached out to Nick and he is replacing my bezels under warranty. He was pretty quick and responsive and standing behind the product which is always nice to see.

Here are my two bezels which somehow got really faded. And they’ve only been mounted since October.

FWIW, I bought mine direct from them August 2024. Installed a few weeks later, in late August: https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...-gen-tundra-today.2558/page-2133#post-3692936

This is the current state of mine. My truck lives in a garage when it's not out, but it does see plenty of sunlight and heat. This is the current state of mine, the driver side (top pic) is original to that order, passenger side had to be replaced, what I'd call a "design flaw" caused the pivot arm to crack, but generally speaking they look fairly unfaded. From this angle you can see they were (apparently?) 3d-printed, or maybe the original model he used to case from was. Wild assumption here, but I did notice the plastic inside is white, I'm wondering if your fading was the result of a paint failure, and he's casting white parts and painting them black?

PS - it also looks like your outer trim ring is rotated a couple of hours out of where it should be rotated but maybe I'm nuts.

Ya my truck is parked in the garage at home and in the shade at work. It still gets sun when driving or parked for activities though. I remember seeing white inside also when my passenger side cracked. I wasn't sure if that was just the plastic changing color due to the fracture though. Either way I'm happy to get a new pair and will try applying some paint or maybe some aerospace 303 or something to protect it from the sun.
I definitely think the parts are 3-d printed, but I'm no expert.
I think I had both arrows lined up when assembled. It could be the angle I took the photo or it could have been rotated somehow when I was messing with something in the area.

I'm not aware of any 3D material that's white and has the same dry/crisp/sandiness I found inside my snapped off arm, so I was septical. I guess only he could say for sure.

When we lived in Socal and I was a teenager, I had a job with a guy who lived across the street from us. He cast these plastic dragon characters who were quite humorous, and sold them in local Hallmark (and similar) stores. He'd cast them in clay, bake them, make a silicone mold with the baked product, make a multi-mold, then pour them out of plastic. Any lines/striations in the original clay model would transfer to the end product. It's what made me think these may've been 3d printed, then molds made from the 3D product, then cast from a stronger plastic. Then painted.

If nothing else, I think we both probably agree: The material used to create them is white, suggesting maybe they're painted at some point, and clearly some of the production that happened between August and September clearly had coating/paint issues.
