    Hi,
I have a 2015 Tundra Limited with an electrical issue.
My A/C used to turn on immediately when the ignition was turned on. Now there's a delay of about 30 seconds to 1 minute after turning on the ignition before the symbol shows on the display and I am able to turn on the A/C.. If, after the truck has been running, I turn the ignition off and then on again the A/C turns on immediately. Once the truck is turned off and I wait a few minutes, there is a delay again before the A/C can be turned on again.
During one of the startups, the head unit, a 3rd party replacement item, didn't start up immediately either, and when it did, all the programmed controls were reset. That only happened once.
Also, when I put my truck in reverse, my left side reverse light flashes once and then turns off.
I think these 3 issues might be related. I hope I explained it accurately and am looking for any help diagnosing and resolving this.
I have a FIXD scanner that says everything is good.
Thanks for any and all help.

The AC Amplifier goes through a "self diagnostic test" every time it boots if you will. Yours is failing at some point and trying to correct. Reasons it takes over a minute to get going. When I swapped to AUTO AC I ran into this a lot. If the ECU controlling the AC sees something its doesn't like it will take forever to boot and will not retain memory settings. "Set Temp etc".

Get a code scanner than can read codes from the AC Amplifer ECU.

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the reply. Do you have a resonably priced scanner recommendation?

To me best value is the VeePeak bluetooth adapter for like $30 on Amazon. Pair it with the OBD Fusion App on a phone and buy the $15 Toyota add on for your year.

For about $50 you have a setup that can read codes just as good as Techstream.

What is this "third party" radio you have installed? If it's one of those big Phoenix tablet things, it takes over the AC controls from factory and should be considered a culprit. Also, you had trouble with your AC system previously and had to have compressor replaced didn't you? Helpful info for those trying to diagnose your problem over the interwebs.

Thanks so much Jeff. Really appreciate your input. Will check it out. A sales person at Nissan, where I bought the truck, introduced.me to the mechanic that he uses said that he will check out my truck on April 5.

    .Hey Knabores,
    Thanks for your input.
I bought the truck used 3 years ago with the Power Acoustik PDN-621HB head unit already installed.
