Yea I said it! Imma chick or a “Good looking boy,” as my grandpa would say. I share this bc it’s difficult in a mans truck world to be girl… I appreciate those men who treat me with dignity and actually walk or talk me through my own repairs but some just make a joke out of ya. Now that has been said:

How would one service their u-joints?

My tundra vibrates on de acceleration and stops as I accelerate. I’m hoping for u joint issues instead of torque converter.

How can I isolate the problem?

    Welcome.

First, have you verified that u-joint (s) are bad?

If DIY- I would mark the driveshaft & differential yoke, remove and swap out u-joints. Reinstall shaft.

Now if you don't want to go through all that, remove shaft and take to driveline shop and have them press in new joints and balance. Reinstall shaft. This is what I would do.

    No worries...
I've known many Four Wheel Drive Chicks over the Years at Tacoma Territory.
You're in the right place to figure out your issues.
Is it a clunking feeling as you accelerate and does it ever stop?
If it happens through acceleration as well as slowing down yes it's likely your U joints.
Crawl under your truck and grab the drive shaft before and after your carrier bearing and give them a shake and twist while watching the U joints.
If you see slop in any of the bearings you've found your problem.
Installing U joints isnt that difficult, while it may be an issue your first time.
The internet is your friend....back in my day we didnt have the internet and we had to go to our local parts store and ask questions....
    Consider yourself lucky.
But yes you can go to your local parts store and smile nicely and they'll be happy to crawl under your truck and let you know if it's your U-joints.

@Helpimmagirl also check the carrier bearing for excessive play while your looking over the u-joints.

this, you would have to press out your unjoints (you need a hydraulic press for that) two simplest options are take it to a driveline shop as tj mentioned and have them rebuild it or buy a new one from the stealership price should be similar

Also I’m assuming you did the basic trouble shooting like checking your drive shaft for play etc, have you been greasing your zerks regularly? Is your truck lifted? If so could be your pinion angle

You can also use a bench vise and the proper size socket to push the bearing cups out.
    Works like a champ.....
