Just purchased and installed techstream and gts. Log in asks what type of user I am. I have tried public and then corporate (because I purchased professional package) and on both it is asking for Vehice Configuration code and no, I can't move on without this and, no, it does not auto populate. Please help!?

Last post in this thread says he didn't have the ignition on. Are you connected to the car & is the ignition on?

    https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-4th-gen-2007-2017/936162-techstream-model-code.html

I had the same issue today and I realized it's only due to the fact that I was running Techstream while the iginition on the car was not fully "ON". For anyone else experiencing this issue in the future... Before you start Techstream, make sure the ignition is on 2nd stage (instrument cluster fully on) but the engine doesn't need to run - then Techstream will pick up the Model Code on its own.

Do you have to have the mongoose reader? THat is the only one mentioned in the directions for GTS/techstream... but those are $600.

I don't but I have a connector that mimics it.

FWIW, when I paid Toyota for TS/GTS getting that fucker installed was a no go, damn installer is still asking if I want to install it 5 months later. I just went back to my alternative solution.

Update. I bought the mongoose and will be returning it as its software didn't work on its own but it did allow me to connect to techstream... which was pretty useless regarding the solenoids.... you can test them while the car is off, but it gives you no ohm readings and it doesn't have a function to test the solenoids while driving, so that was a bust.
Looks like I'll have to ohm them at the connector or just pull them and ohm them. One thing I did notice is that the SLT solenoid, main pressure solenoid, was always in the ON position, and only changed if I watched it while I was driving and flooring it.
I did the same in my buddies forrunner and its was basically the same.... all other solenoids started in the OFF position.
