Went to get my tires rotated this week……I tried to do it myself last weekend but couldn’t get the rear wheel off for the life of me. Went to pick up the truck and the service lady said I needed a new wheel lock key - they fubar’ed it with the impact. I guess it wasn’t totally seated on the impact gun. Is there anywhere I can purchase a replacement key only? The only thing I am finding is a replacement of the lug nuts and new key……would prefer just to get a new key if possible.

You need to have the Key Code and then you can send off for a new one - literature came with the truck on how and where to send off for it

Call the dealership and make them responsible. Likely. They will just buy you a new set of locks. But force them to solve this since they created the issue.

But as others said, the code is not on the wheel lock key or the locking lugs. It's part of the packaging, if you no longer have any of that stuff, not sure if you can get it. (This assumes it's the McGard brand product).

It is McGaed; actually wasn’t a dealership. Local shop. I typically do all my own stuff but I couldn’t get the rear tire broken loose. I looked in the security key and it was completely stripped out……like there wasn’t anything left of the metal pattern inside the socket.

I ended up calling the dealership and they didn’t have any in stock and went of mcgard website. Either way was going to be a process getting a replacement. I ended up going to car quest and getting an emergency removal socket. It took every bit of my impact power and me stomping on the 1/2” breaker bar to finally break it loose. Had to cut the edges to square it off and remove the lug from the socket. Total pain in the ass and unnecessarily so because some grease monkey decide to gorilla tighten my lug nuts…….i will call on Monday and let them know. They should at least cover the coat of the new lugs and removal tool ($60) but I am not optimistic. Won’t use them again.

This doesn't help you now and wouldn't have been a quick fix, but you can get replacement keys directly from McGard. We bought a used car with wheel locks and no key. I reached out to McGard, sent them pictures of the lock, and had new key within a few days. It cost around $20.

In a pinch I've removed key locks hammering a slightly smaller sized 12 point socket on to it and getting it off.
Although as tight as that one was I'm not sure that method would have worked..
Sockets are fairly cheap to replace.

I can’t imagine that would have worked on this one but good to know for the future! This must have been 120 foot pounds of torque at least…..it was crazy. This is what I used:
