Been working on my electrical diagram for a dual battery set up.

I plan on putting my battery behind the back seat.

"Behind the back seat" as in inside the cab?

Is this going to be an AGM battery or Lithium?

I see conflicting information on whether or not AGM's need to be vented, what's the hive-mind here?

So possible issues would be venting for AGM (Depending on ^^^) or the different charge profile for LiFePo4.

This stuff is definitely not my strong suit, so I have only questions, not answers.

Ahhh, looks like solar AND DC-DC, nice!

Nothing wrong with Renogy, I have one of their suitcase portables that's performed very well, but have you considered using Victron stuff where possible?

In most cases it's not much more, and kinda' the gold standard.

The battery offered comms, so I figured that would be handy by connecting it to the charger to work in harmony.

    1st Gen here...don't beat me.

I just switched from a simple AGM starter to AGM house battery via an isolator to a Lifepo4 house battery. Your schematic looks legit. When I went Lithium, I ended up running a Redarc Alpha 25A DC to DC charger. My house battery is only 105ah, so the 25A charger is enough with my factory alternator size. I'll also have a Cascadia hood mounted solar panel and a pigtail to charge via suitcase while at camp. Nice to have solar and alternator charging simultaneously. Dual battery systems are nice. I kept mine small as I only power 4 12v outlets and a dedicated ARB lock-in outlet for the fridge. I did change my light management to the house battery as well. I was tempted to do a full Redarc with the Manager 30, but will save that for the new truck when I retire in 3 years and run more accessories. I'm a Redarc homer and run some other gear of theirs. For batteries, I went with Epoch. Between the Bluetooth on the battery and charger, I can keep tabs on everything via a tablet. I may, however, add a shunt and the little Renogy battery monitor down the road.

    Please post pics once installed.

AGMs are sealed, so no venting necessary.

Some things I learned from a buddy who does 12v: Don't let your wire be the fuse. Use the Bluesea amp vs wire gauge chart. Fuse close to your power source. Add a disconnect and/or use fuse breakers. Carefully layout and plan your set up.

I like the schematic program you used. I did mine on Lucid. Went through a bunch of drafts before I ordered my supplies. Planning definitely helped out.

I'm a controls engineer so I used Autocad Electrical.

I will say, I find AC electrical much easier to plan and design.

After I get it installed and see how much room is left, I may add another battery and switch to 24V.
Those batteries bolt together so I'm hoping there will be enough room.
24VDC would open the door to so much more electrical components as well.

True. I suppose it all depends on what you need for your trips. I bought the 300ah from Epoch as well. I was looking to buy a small trailer, but plans changed. After changing the house to the 100ah...I'm now considering moving the batteries to the bed and using the 300ah vs the 105ah. I'm going to do a short shakedown trip when I go on my turkey hunt and sww how everything works the way it is. If I do move everything, I'd like to do a complete electrical board with teh speaker carpet and dead space behind it for wire management. I'm always impressed when I see those clean set ups.

I look forward to seeing your set up...
