Yeah. Started a yesterday. Been a bit over 24 hours so far.

 

Born in the '60s; so, I've lived in 7 different decades, 2 centuries, and 2 different millennia. Narrowly escaped being a boomer(but I married one), am hated by most of genX, Millennials, and genZ as much as if I was a boomer, and can't remember what I went into the kitchen for.

 

I've been feeling emotionally constipated lately.







I haven't given a crap in weeks.

 

People do teams with their cameras on? Nerds.

 

Ugh. My company just made this mandatory for teams meetings. I fucking hate this touchy Feely crap that is infecting business.

 

Cameras were never mandatory at my previous employer. If they had mandated that the cameras be on, I'd have found a poster of an angry tiger and used it as a back drop.

No. Then I have to deal with IT, and they are awful.

 

Tell me about it. They took away my Microsoft Visio license even though I need it for work. Submit a ticket and the first question is "are you still having the issue?" Do these guys have a lot of IT issues that magically fix themselves?

 

You should have told them you self-identify as Beavis and they're not seeing you for your real self.

 

The IT at my work has been farmed out multiple times to the lowest bidder and it shows.

 

They took away my Bluebeam licence when I was given an upgrade computer. Apparently getting a new computer meant I didn't need Bluebeam anymore, despite my job remaining the same. Even after my manager confirmed I needed the licence, they wouldn't give it to me. "blah blah blah project cost management blah blah blah". So I went to our admin lady and she talked to IT. I had Bluebeam within an hour.

Always be nice to the admin lady.

I don't think any of our admin ladies could pull that off.

 

Our admin lady is the Mama Bear in the office. She basically runs the place. Even the senior managers treat her with the utmost respect because she can and WILL make your life miserable if you don't. Need a monitor? It goes through her. Need more coffee for the office machine? She orders it. Final expense report approval prior to sending to accounting? She approves them. She knows everyone and how to get anything. If you've ever seen the show Suits, she's like Donna.

Some people hate her. They think she has too much power for someone who is "only a secretary" and are demanding and condescending to her. Thus their lives are more difficult than need be.

Me on the other hand? I'm nice to her. Among other things, I haven't done an expense report in 2.5 years because she takes care of them for me. I just send her my receipts and the report is done.

 

Battery on the Tundra shit the bed today, but it was 5 1/2 years old so can't really bitch about that. The only one I could find in my area was this Duralast for like $200.00.
Anyone here ever had one of these? Any good? Negative replies will be reported as it will ruin my Friday night buzz.
