Looking for a little direction here - does anyone have this exhaust system on their 3rd gen? I'm looking for a quality cat-back system to be paired with a couple other bolt-ons I'll be purchasing in the coming months. The truck is my daily/travel vehicle as well, so minimal drone is the goal and better efficiency is always a plus. I like the ability to change out the tip as needed, even though I won't need the clearance all that often. I've heard good things about this system on other vehicles, but there aren't many reviews, or sound clips, posted anywhere for this truck that I've been able to find. The sound clips I've found seem nice, but I only trust them so far.

It's got a significantly higher price tag than most exhaust systems on the market, which I believe is the cause for less available resources...but I believe in the "buy once cry once" mentality especially if the parts are beneficial. I've got a couple other exhaust systems I'm looking at as well, but I'm looking for some background on this one. Anyone that could provide some personal input would be greatly appreciated.

I debated between the Legamax and AWE, I went with awe simply because of the reviews and the abundance of sound clips, they also sounded similar

Appreciate the thoughts on AWE, they’re second on my list. I agree they do sound similar, but of the whopping two total HKS clips I’ve come across, HKS “might” have a deeper tone. I am still leaning more towards HKS because of the interchangeable tips.

    Hi Guys,

Thank you for your interest in our Legamax Trailmaster. Since the Trailmaster lineup for the offroad vehicle is fairly new to the US market, we're more than happy to address questions or provide information as much as we can. We have driven over 6+ hour trips frequently and 16 hour drives without any discomfort in the cabin as the deep and aggressive sound is more apparent under acceleration (with burnt tip option). Installation is very smooth however, it does require lowering the spare tire to create clearance for the rear section to go over the frame. Removal and install of the optional tip can be done efficiently in about 1-2min. If you are looking to achieve the sound upgrade, you will absolutely want the catback section as the OEM section before the axleback section can be restrictive. However, if you are looking to acquire the burnt tip aesthetic or the ability to have an optional turn down tip without having to purchase a full system, our axleback option is also available.

Additionally, our friends at SDHQ have confirmed fitment on their double cab with 6.5ft bed Tundra.

We'll try to come back to this thread as much as possible, however, if we miss any updates, feel free to reach out to us at support@hksusa.com.

i'm actually trying to decide between these two as well. i'm a die hard JDM fan though (still have a R35 GTR with lots of JDM goods)...so it's hard to pass up on the HKS. i already have TE37XTs waiting to be mounted so this would go along nicely =)

I am as well. My truck now sounds like an R35 GTR, a buddy said it sounds like what a VQ should sound like.

Glad you could join the conversation. Any chance we could get some sound clips from within the cab?

While we are still in the process of getting the fly by and in cabin footage, we want to share a video created by our friends at TheYotaGarage. We apologize for the delay!

Any future products in the works? Maybe intakes? To pair with this exhaust of course
