Leveling kit made front too high

Hey guys!

I did post this in Suspension yesterday, and got some ideas from member SilveradoSwap, but was hoping maybe someone would have ideas I could try to fix this. I’m about a week into owning my new to me Tundra, which I upgraded into after having a Tacoma for a long time. I love it so far, but I have noticed that the front sits higher than the back. I’ve done some investigating, and it looks to have a leveling spacer, but I don’t have any idea how tall, or what one. I measured it tonight, and to the flares, it’s 1/2 higher in the front.

Any ideas what kit this is? It doesn’t look huge, so I’m wondering if there’s some way that it could have been done incorrectly that caused it to be too high. I’d like to either fix it, or swap it out for a lower kit to put a tiny bit of rake back into it. I don’t know of if I want to lift the back, as I’m planning to run this tire for awhile.

 

Just remove the spacer and run it stock height.

 

If you're in North Carolina just chill out. You're just fine. Maybe double up on those spacers.

 

I can’t tell for sure, but if this is the RC kit that seems very popular, the strut studs got cut off, so I couldn’t just remove them.

 

I know! It’s only a half inch, but it’s driving me nuts!

 

I looks like an RC spacer, but at 1.75" it should be level with rear. I used that kit myself. I later added a 1/2" rear spacer from Cornfed to give it a slight rake.
You could always add a half inch to rear, just to level it.

 

I added the 1” Cornfed spacer to the rear with the 1.75” RC front level kit and that was the way to go.

I’ve been thinking that’s probably the easiest fix, I’m just a little worried that the stock tires will look too small. What I’ve been wondering about why it’s so high is if maybe the swaybar and control arms were tightened off the ground, so it’s higher than it should be?

 

All the same things I suggested in his original thread. You gonna start another thread until you get the answer you want?

How about putting 50psi in the rear tires and drop the front to 15psi.

I'll break it down for you OP, it's very simple.
First of all, you're new. So, welcome.

Because you're new, I don't want to assume.
Not sure how familiar you are with internet forums. They have rules. Most of them spelled out, some are just common sense and etiquette.

A single thread CAN contain more than one opinion, idea or thought. Just give it some time, and they will appear.
It's poor forum etiquette to create multiple threads on the same topic or subject. It's just clutter, and adds to the internet trash you obviously dislike.

So, if you choose to redeem yourself from being the dick in this situation, ask the mods to merge the threads, or delete this one, that didn't need to be created in the first place.
Between the two threads you've been given more than enough information to make an informed decision on your next steps.

He cant most likely. If they are RC spacers you have to cut the studs at the top of the shock assembly to install them.

I ran this same spacer up front and put 1” Westcott spacers in the rear. That worked great on my Limited.

Does your 1794 have a rear air suspension? It is does there are some things to make the rear go up by adjusting the little arms that control the levelling.

 

Not all RC spacers require you to cut off studs. Mine didn't, maybe it's a newer version? My spacers bolted onto the top of strut, then spacers bolted to truck. Simple & easy. Personally, as mentioned earlier, I'd just add a little to rear.

 

Would be worth pulling one to check, cant hurt.

The Stealerships body shop is installing RCs 1.75 kit on the front of my 25 Platinum Monday. The 1.75 is what they said they have installed the most and it usually comes out level, hope so. Didn't realize these were synthetic.

No air suspension. I may add a spacer to the rear, I’m just concerned it’ll make the stock size tires seem too small. And with just buying the truck, running boards and a tonneau cover, my wife will murder me if I replace these tires for looks, lol.

 

Good luck Steve! Seems like most of the installs work out fine, not sure why mine is higher in the front, and probably won’t get an answer unless I tear it apart.

 

Interesting, I watched the Yota Garage install on a 22, and he cut the studs down to 5/8. Looks like I could buy new top hats if I had to, but at $100 a side, I’d probably be better off replacing the entire strut with some RC M1s for $500 a pair.

 

OP, you have the hybrid => hence, the front is lower than the non-hybrid.
Your only solution now is to install a spacer on the rear.

 

So, I didn’t know that the front of the hybrid was lower, but if that’s the case, shouldn’t everyone who installs a RC 1.75 have front higher than the back. Not saying I don’t need a rear spacer, or a lower front spacer, but lots of people seem level with this kit. If hybrids are even lower in the front seems like I’d have less of problem, instead of more.
