We've yet to see the actual revisions of this kit. No one other than Stillen has confirmed that all the issues have, or in process of, been satisfactorily resolved. Simple solution is to offer a discount, an opportunity drawing or just a giveaway with the sole purpose of getting the revised product out there and an honest review documented here. This is exactly what we do when we receive a CAP. We hold the auditee to their word and we test their revised policies and procedures. You talked the talk, now walk the walk. Simple.

I honestly believe there is no immediate concern and/or need/priority from Stillen to actually make this right. So many things that could be done to rebuild trust and we get nothing other than, trust us that we learned from this.

Just to clarify, this is not against you, Will. We all know you're just the messenger and we are not even aiming at you. This is a company issue that you are trying to wrangle, based on company directives. We appreciate you coming here and sharing what is being passed down.

Thanks for not shooting the messenger! One of the main concerns is being ghosted or ignored. I scout this forum frequently a few times a week. I try to get back to comments or messages within 2 business days.

I know previous reps have not been responsive and want to let everyone know with me running this I will not let that happen. Again, I can't undo what all happened but I can try to correct what was wrong and definitely want to make everyone as happy as possible.

You mentioned doing a drawing or giveaway. Unfortunately, I'm only allowed to do certain things before needing to ask from the higher ups, but I can definitely let them know this is something the community would like to see. I'm open to other reasonable suggestions or ideas and would love to hear feedback from everyone.

If anyone still has a unresolved issue from their intake please send me a message. For the people who might want to try the corrected version I'd be more than happy to get you a discount. If you would rather try an exhaust or the TruControl message me and I'll work on getting you a better price than what's on the website.

I dont think its about what we want...its about what Stillen wants to do about it. Do they want to right this? Do they want to earn our business? It's all up to your higher ups. And so far, it doesnt seem like we are even a blip on their radar.

Personally, I wouldve sent you in here, guns blazing. With a full gallery of the revised intake kit detailing how everything was addressed. Seems like common sense to me?
I wouldve announced a special program for original adopters in case they wanted to give it a second try and anything else that would help me sell my product after scaring away my target market.

But so far all we've seen (And appreciate) is a responsive rep. But the ghosting was merely a secondary issue that had nothing to do with the botched product launch. The poor product plus the bad comms just compounded the main issue. She had probably mentally clocked out by the time this went down and honestly, I wouldnt want to deal with ticked off customers if I had one foot out the door.

    Thats your job now :)

    Agreeing with Eddie 100%

I appreciate the "we messed up and we apologize" gesture, but I assume many people still do not feel comfortable spending $600 based on an apology without real-world results, respectfully. I think the design is great and absolutely would purchase this product if I had confidence that the time and money I spend to install it would not be wasted on a (potentially) defective product.

Will, I'm glad you're out here fighting the good fight. There are people here who want to be a customer, but I hope you understand their reservations.

I can and will push your comments up to them. let me chat with them and I'll report back.

Lowcountry I can totally understand their reservations. I would be in the same boat being a customer. Let me talk with them and see what we can come up with!

This is the perspective that we’re asking for from your higher-ups. I think the conversation is headed in the right direction, we just need to see that Stillen is serious.

I look forward to seeing the path Stillen decides to take, and will happily purchase the intakes once confidence is restored.

Tundras are just not marketable trucks. They just dont want to put much effort if their products aint selling, Yet the Tacomas are. Those Tacos get more aftermarket products than Tundras.

it is, its better than high dew point to me though

I've been out there golfing in 98-104 and it was fine.

here its 85-90 and dew point 75 and you want to die,

soaking wet , energy drained, sticky as shit

and then we get 9 months of total shit with grey skies and freezing your balls off, no thanks, I'd rather roast for a few months then have it nice the rest of the year. I don't work outside anymore anyways, so Ill float around my pool or sit in the AC till the sun goes down, fine with me after 35 years of this shit here

Sorry if I missed it, but I just skimmed this entire thread and I haven't found the answer to my question.

As I understand it, the air intake is limited by the size of the piping and the calibration of the ECU, neither of which this Stillen kit changes. Correct?

So do these intake kits actually provide any performance improvements over the stock intake? If so, in what way?

    Thanks

it "adds gains" that aren't very well documented or usable, and it "won't void your warranty if you take it off before you go to the dealer" lol.

you should get one Matt !

jokes aside , all I see is this

"Alongside the substantial reduction in intake air temperature, the Trupower by STILLEN Toyota Tundra and Sequoia cold air intake boosts horsepower and torque by over +10HP and 20 lb ft at peaks*, with further gains across the RPM range. .

    *Results May Vary!"

    I don't think I've seen a dyno yet.

So, reading between the lines, the answer is they don't do shit, and a lot of guys were duped into buying a $500 gimmick that didn't fit properly and had a poorly designed lid latch.

    Sound about right?

This lines up with every aftermarket CAI for every generation Tundra ever. They're good for some louder intake noises.

I'm reminded of the '70s and '80s when shade-tree mechanics would slap a 4-barrel carb on a 2-barrel intake manifold, then wonder why their engine's performance didn't improve, and in many cases got worse. LOL.

i was in on the first k and n intake on my 2000 tundra , didn’t do shit , truck wouldn’t run , talked with k and n engineering , wound up sending it back. A bunch of us found oil analysis was not so good after running them for a while as well . That was back in the first days of the tundra though on tundrasolutions.com
