First, map and cabin lights all shorted out. Completely in the dark in the cab until they can replace my overhead console under warranty. It's on backorder until late June, 2025 :( with it already being pushed back once. Contacted Toyota corporate (brand engagement) to generate a reference number and they can't do anything when it comes to parts being backordered, essentially it comes when it comes and they will keep me updated.
    - Anyone else experiencing this?

Second, this happened today at the touchless carwash during the blow dry phase. I put it back for now but doesn't feel secure, I'd say it will be probably come out again. Truck is still under warranty.
    - This a common issue?

Sucks about the cabin lights.. I'm sure you've looked at all the fuses to confirm...?

Secondly, yeah this happens... at least you still have it... many times, they jump ship while driving and you rarely know until you look on top! I had to buy one and I added more butyl-like glue and a far as I know, it still there. Reglue it and wait for the dealer to help you on the lights!

I don't think they investigated too deep, went faily straight to replacement of the console. I was okay with that solution just can't believe a part like that is BO for so long.

Good to know this happens to others. There was no missing it coming out of the dryer as it smacked my passenger window hard, scared the sh*t outta me! Recommendation on the glue?

Worse case, maybe check a pick and pull yard for a console... though, you'd likely buy it yourself. At least daylight hours are getting stronger, right?! :p

You can use Locktite clear adhesive... it retains softness is meant for extend temperatures (sun and cold) and sets fast...I used some butyl tire cement for some reason, but it's been holding tight for over a year... if I did it again I'd try the Locktite stuff...

I had one of those strips come completely off and didn’t realize until I looked real close one day. Ended up ordering a new one.

I would use any type of external multi purpose clear adhesive in the adhesive/caulk section of home depot.

Had it happen to me, in a new car wash. Just pushed it back in and I don’t use that car wash anymore. Hasn’t happened since

I thought of that too but didn't want to affect the warranty replacement. DST change is true, it's been a little better recently than a few weeks ago. When you lose your interior lights you notice how much you use them without thinking.

I'll give the adhesive a try. Thanks all for the suggestions.

Give both the cab and weatherstrip a good cleaning with windex and let dry then run a strip of this stuff down the channel preferably on a warm day or in the sun and press down real good. Mines been holding solid for about 3 years now. $8 can’t go wrong and have a bunch left over for other projects.

I went thru a GO Wash with those Turbotastic Boeing Wind Tunnels, got to the vacuums and saw my rooftop rubber channel hanging on for dear life! Popped it back in and been fine since.
However in the trash can was an entire headlight assembly of a late model something or ever. Now I have Rhino kayak mounts so would never go back.

Same ... seemed like it just snapped back in and no problems since.
