    Amazon sells a thingie that will disable all the time. Have one for over a year and a half now. works as it should. Think it was around $25.00. Five-minute install

    Hey Eddie
    Thanks for your quick response

    Next Question is about letting the Turbo cool down
    I think I have read that Toyota wants you to let the Turbo cool after highway speeds ??
    Driving down the highway 70 mph , pull off on exit ramp, long line of cars and you come to complete stop .

    My questions are ;
    How important is it to let Turbo cool
    Will the computer override the start stop system and keep the engine running until its sufficiently cools

    New to Turbos so any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks again

    That’s an old holdover from oil cooled only turbos.

    these are coolant cooled units, and if they do get hot and then subsequently shut down I’m sure there is a secondary water pump that will circulate coolant to keep
    From coking the CHRA.

    thats how my 2012 GTI was

    Manual doesnt tell you how long to idle for, but it does specifically says you have to turn off the auto stop/start to avoid turning it off while stopped. I just dont press the brake pedal down as hard and that takes care of that.
