Voice to Text - Error - Help

    Just recently the voice to text function on our 23 GX stopped working and we’re getting this error. It does work when connect via usb and using Apple Car Play.
    All other voice functions such as changing the radio and making calls are working. Only the speech to text gives us an error. I’ve also disconnected the battery for approximately 10 minutes but that didn’t help either. Checked for updates on the infotainment and it say’s it’s up to date. Turned off the iPhone and back on as well as tried another iPhone but nothing works. This just started today. All subscriptions are up to date. Does anyone know the fix or having the same issue?

    Is it still under factory warranty? it could be something as simple as a loose mic cable.

    It is under warranty, but there are many factors including the phones current OS updates as well as Lexus subscriptions, and the associated updates and I can almost guarantee that they will try to charge me for diagnostic if not more.

    I ruled out the mic issues by trying all other functions including making a call, changing radio stations, etc... All of them work as they should with the exception of the Speech to Text for what ever reason.

    I have been researching this, and some reported that they have issues like this when the subscription runs out, but ours are still all active until at least 2026 so that doesnt affect me to my knowledge.
    I saw someone on ClubLexus.com also is having a similar issue with their 22 RX and it started around the same time, and cant get it figured out either.
    I have a feeling it is due to a recent update on either the iPhones or Lexus Infotainment.

    The Work around for now is to use Apple Car Play or just ask Siri to reply.
    I may get a wireless dongle, but not sure what is recommended now. Any Suggestions?

    Update - My 21 Tundra is doing the same exact thing now. Not sure if it is a Toyota/Lexus update issue or if its an iPhone issue.

    Have you tried resetting the head unit and the phone?

    I have not tried to reboot either. However I have read that others tried this too and it did not work.

    Update:
    Typically I only drive my truck on the weekends and my wife only drives the GX a couple days out of the week. Occasionally it is more often.
    Last Friday I took my wife to dinner in my truck and we tried to respond to a text by using the dictation and all worked like normal.
    We then took her GX out all day Saturday and it also worked like normal.
    I have no idea weather the Vehicles updated or the phones did, but whatever happened, fixed the issue.
