That was another concern of mine. What I paid for, I have a lifetime warranty nation wide, so I know I can get it repaired anywhere I go. I do a lot of work in the bed, so that is worth a lot!

@WrapCO I saw your new rig in the thread about the Sequoia front end swap. Love to see what you've done with it, or what your plans are in here.

IMO… The 5th gen 4Runner will be the last of the old school Toyota’s that they’ve built their reputation on as far as vehicles sold in the United States. The build quality and reliability of the 5th gen is on par with what all Toyota’s used to be.

Am I the only person who thinks all the hype around these mini trucks is stupid? Everybody acts like this is going to replace their quad cab long bed f250 or something and all I see is a worthless golf cart.

First, it's not meant for the US market. Second, nobody thinks it would be a replacement for a 1/2 ton, let alone an HD truck. It would be a supplemental rig.

However, if they were sold here for what they go for in the Korean/Vietnamese markets ($10K-$15K) they would sell like mad because of the reliability and capability. No, it won't be fast or tow big boats, but it would haul yard material or could be converted into a variety of side hustle rigs or a little RV. Or, it'd be a really affordable get around town rig. It would absolutely have a place.

Look at these below and imagine if you had it somewhere in a city. It's small, gets around easy, and isn't obscenely expensive to get a mobile business going.

You could do a pressure washing gig out of one, or tow a little trailer for a lawn care business, pest control, etc. There are loads of options. It'll never be that price here because of our safety and emissions requirements. It would balloon the cost to within a few thousand dollars of a Tacoma, and then it's out of its league.

The child from FLT (a nepo baby) is a complete retard. Ignore him.

Our trucks are huge because the regs were made based on wheelbase, so to get away from trying to make a small truck (think '90s Rangers and such) have the same economy as an Accord of the same wheelbase, the manufacturers worked around it by upsizing the vehicles. Our laws are stupid, not Americans as the dipshit in the video claims.

He's doing it as clickbait, and you bit. :p:boink:

I've seen a couple around that were brought up from Mexico. I thought we'd get the Patrol before we got the smaller NP.

It is a good looking truck. Too small for what I need, but it is a great little truck. Reminds me of the small little hard body Nissan before they came out with the Frontier.

Trying to compete with hilux and this really cool lil Mitsubishi. I'm jealous of the European market pickups and I desperately want a RCLB Hilux in my life

When we went overseas, the area we went had Hilux. They were sweet trucks for sure!

I also used to like the Isuzu. Never knew what happened to them.

Nice! Kinda hard to tell colors in that lighting. Do you have other pics that show the truck and wheel color better?

    Yup.
    Except for the cash part.
When shopping used I wanted the 8 cylinder because I wasn't sure about the new engine before the recall was even announced and I think the 2019 I bought just looks nicer than the gen 3.
I don't care for the front end on those.

Also the used 3rd gens were way above my looking price.

My focus in the 90's was more on the performance of the vehicle. I never really paid attention to the paint jobs :D

They are not going for much right now in my area. Our local Toyota has about 20 or more on the lot. I drove in to just look around and the salesman tried to tell me how bad the Ram was. I agreed that Ram may or may not have a good reputation, but, right now my truck is not under recall either.

So, that ended the sale pitch and pretty much any conversation . He did try to tell me something in passing. Something like the issues are all taken care of, and Toyota fixed it all. But that was said in haste as he walked back to the building. :hattip:

    Fake news.
You do realize that article is ELEVEN YEARS OLD? No NP300 will see the light of day here. Hilux or Navarra are the great options. Lots of Navarra's in Ozzie land and S.A. Hilux's are all over the universe.

FYI....No NP's here. You will see Navarra's up here though. In NA = Frontier badging. Everywhere else = Navarra badging. The new 3rd gen Frontier is not sold anywhere but here. Won't be labeled Navarra overseas. Won't be sold there.

The article may be old, but it was just to show some concept.

This video is only a month old and it seems to say otherwise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFVxCWfSJII

I am not saying I know anything more than what is shown, but just putting it out there that I think, if they do bring it out, it will change the game in the smaller truck market for sure.

I'm still highly skeptical. The D41, which I have, was scheduled to be in production thru 2029. That's up in the air now. Nissan is having some serious financial issues. Production has been cut back on many models. The Canton, Mississippi plant has cut shifts. A more affordable truck similar to the NP300/Navara, also known as the Ute in some places, would sell well like the D41. There is the compliance problem to US and EPA standards. This is why you don't see diesel Navara's sold here or diesel Hilux's. Sucks to be us.

Well, I ordered some accessories from Ferd because they have a sale going right now and I've got "rewards" from when I bought the truck.

    upload_2025-4-17_11-44-38.png

I hate that rear wheel well liners aren't just included on the truck, but my "rewards" makes them free, and then the sale was enough that the bed mat is basically $90. Pretty sweet deal.

Next paycheck I might spring for the Rokblokz mud flaps like what @LarryDangerfield got for his 4Runner. Seems like one of the better options for the money.

It’s crazy what world we live in people are paying 60k+ just to break down or get a new engine. I hate it when people say oh I have 15k miles with no issues. Like seriously back in the olds days 100k miles are break in miles. But anyway I was thinking low mileage 2018 tundra but they wanted an arm and leg! So I pick up 1st gen titan with 60k miles for 18k. Oh and payload is 1730lbs IMG_2467.jpg IMG_2466.jpg
