I need tires 275/65/18. A/T I have been searching and always find that Walmart has the best prices
I’m worried about how good they are at installing , did anyone use Walmart for there tires? If so , are they good? I would hat3 to spend 8 to 900 dollars and not be 100 percent happy.
I also see that they have off brand tires that look great and are much much less expensive. Are they worth it? I had summit tires on my previous truck and they were very good tires. If they are made in china, who cares as long as they are good. Let me know what you tundra guys and girls think.

They needed a few tries to get them balanced, but I got the tires on my Corolla from Walmart and other than that no issues at all. They use "torque sticks" so most likely they won't screw up studs, which is always my biggest concern

Walmart is good for tires, the installers are hit or miss. You might poke your head in and casually watch the "tire techs" to see how they handle other peoples' vehicles before you take your vehicle there.

Or, put your truck on jackstands and just take the wheels to them, assuming you have another vehicle to haul them.

In short/in regards to install, they’re probably no worse than any other big tire shop.

I think of it as big tire shops, quick lines etc. are generally speaking going to be entry level techs. Go to those places and it’s generally younger people getting into auto mechanics and it’s one of their first jobs in the field, doesn’t mean they’re bad though as it realistically only takes a short amount of time of changing standard tires or oil to learn how to do it very well.

Big shops that might have slightly better wages like say Costco for example, might have more experienced techs, but then you need a membership to have them install the tires, but fun fact, if you buy yourself a Costco gift card, you can use it to buy tires from Costco you’d just have to get them installed somewhere else if you don’t have a membership, or pay the ~$60 or whatever to get a membership.

As with any big purchase, shop around extensively, do your homework if you’re considering a cheaper brand regarding warranty etc.

It's no different than any other tire shop. Comes down to the tech doing the work and how busy they are. Maybe dont go if they are slammed on a saturday or if the tech looks like a crackhead.

My last new set of tires i got at tire kingdom. They did an alignment as part of the package which was nice. The set i had before that from walmart they did not check the alignment. I dont think they had a machine for it.

Most tires have a mileage rating. Cheaper tires typically dont last as long, so it's sometimes a wash. My trucks always eat tires so i never buy michelins unless they are used.

I bought 4 tires at a WalMart tire shop and have had nothing but problems ever since! I do not recommend them. The tires are fine but the lug nuts keep loosening on me! YMMV

I account for total cost ( are flats fixed for free , etc) + I try to get a local review. As stated above, you can always watch a few installs to get a feel for the shop

Take the WalMart quote or web link and send it to Discount Tire. Discount will match the price and do a better install.
